Brought the violins out today because of "abuse" online

Is it another case of mistaking "abuse" for constructive criticism ?

I'm not denying there's idiots out there that will insult people, but when it comes to anyone in the MSM they always take constructive criticism as "abuse"

You can no longer criticise them it seems

Alex Scott is a great football pundit. Talks more sense than most analysts.

I've never cared who pundits are, it's the football you want to watch, however a lot of girls like football but don't persist with it because it was always male dominated, seeing women as pundits and lineswomen who encourage them, only a matter of time before there's a female manager in the top 4 divisions in England, probably by 2030. I also think Phil Neville was given the Women's Manager position to increse it's profile rather than because he was the best candidate, though I think he's done decent enough job.

Needs to man up.  Not everyone will like you.  Lots of people will hate you for no obvious reason.  So what.  Just get on and live your life instead of all this hand-wringing sobbing I-need-therapy nonsense.  Sick to death of people having a meltdown every five minutes.  Stop being so fücking weak and pathetic.

more or less called souness a dinosaur ,the mail seems to think pinching a few cliches that Klopp, sari, pep etc might or might not use makes her credible, what she fails to realise is that sounness was saying full press, short press, etc might be modern terms but have always been coached but just went down as part of the game, mizz scott might drool wet herself over the roles of ferenandino, henderson, etc in team,s but if she takes a look at the 1966 world cup pacesless, skill less, nobby stiles was doing it over 50 years ago,
its the fact that as well as her clichés she goes into press to basically say those players, fans, pundits who havnt been in a modern dressing room, training field don't understand the game anymore, closing down defenders, goalkeepers who are pratting about around their box is hardly earth shattering tactics,or letting defenders come forward with the ball, leaving them with ball rather than letting messi, mane, sterling etc get on it is hardly earth shattering, don't suppose any manager 60 years ago told a player to make sure you make nobby stiles pass the ball to George best, in a zillion games obi mekel scored his 2nd goal last week, alex scott would smugly tell viewers that opposition should let mekel have the ball, same as most coaches facing city are quite happy to let walker have the ball and bnatter it a 100 times into a defenders legs,
alex luv it aint new and it aint rocket science, you wernt educating souness as you seem to think, you were using a new phrase to explain something souness was doing in his sleep 30 years ago, without a posh label to describe it

Total and utter sexism from the likes of sky
Everytime i turn on the watch Footy,Racing,Tennis,Golf,Rugger
you get Female pundits more often than men
Yet was watching the netball on sky last night and not a male pundit
to be seen or heard sky need to have equal op's for men imo.

She's played on a few parks hasn't she, so she must know what she's on about Crazy

Another fancy modern day term is "low block", its pathetic really, its just another way of calling Dyches tactics "defensive", but they have fancy names for everything now, watch Al Murray "secretary" shtick to fully understand how stupid modern society is

But she was a rubbish player in a rubbish womens game ffs, but her opinion matters doesn't it so that's that CrazyCrazy

Football is a simple sport made complicated by idiots

Case in point was last night in the Derby Leeds match, you could say Derby have better players on paper, but Leeds are better coached and more well drilled

3 times Leeds have made Derby look totally stupid this season, and that's down to the coaching staff at both clubs

Scott would insult her viewers with fancy terms, but don't dare give a lesson back because you'll be accused of being abusive CrazyLaugh

We use to turn around and ask know it alls a question, 'if your so good why don't you give it a go' as in give management or coaching a go here?

Nah, she'd rather insult former players who have been in the game before she was born eh, and then scream "sexism" if she's called out for it

And people defended her over Souness ffs CrazyCry

She's doing very well for herself.  It's hard to think of any other regular Premier League pundit who never actually played or managed in that division.  Every ex-lower-league-footballer trying to carve out a career in punditry is restricted to lower league TV games as far as I can see.  Not only that, she appears on both Sky and BBC's flagship programmes - that must be unique

If she's so knowledgeable and intelligent why not try her hand in coaching?

Or is it a case of her just using fancy buzz phrases and not totally understanding them?

I bet a fiver right now she wouldn't have a clue where to start on a training ground never mind working out opposition weaknesses etc

Bielsa at Leeds gave a presentation on Derby? like what hand signals they used for corners etc? can you see her being able to do the same ? I don't think so

She's getting a fair wad for talking buzz words on SKY and BBC though I giver her that

You think this upsets people most contrary your belief can judge like for like praise and critcise regardless regardless or race, gender etc.

Take her to a proper training briefing, ask her to watch an oppositions game and then get her to work out how to stifle the opposition

Stop the ball getting to Messi? how do you stop the ball getting to Messi, Miss Scott

Might have know someone would turn up with the "race, sex" card as well, no doubt wont be able to get into a proper debate with us though Wink

Furthermore it was a suggestion to up the interest in Netball, sex sells as we know get the testosterone fuelled adolescents interested and the game may progress beyond the interest of Phil Neville.

she thinks just saying 'don't let them get the ball to messi' means she's a world class thinker, an expert in football Laugh

Like they haven't thought of that themselves? they'd have worked out the opposition will have worked on stopping messi and come up with another tactic to counter it

How do you then stop that tactic mid game, miss scott

This is where you get called a sexist pig and told to shut up

Would like to add its not just Alex Scott though

Gary Neville is another, he tried his hand at it and got made to look a total pillock, at least he tried though and then pretty much admitted he wasn't good enough

If she's so knowledgeable and intelligent why not try her hand in coaching?

What about Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, Kevin Kilbane, Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Savage?

All of them are male pundits, why not tell them to try their hand in coaching as well if they are so knowledgable ?

Or Gary Neville, who had 1 short stint and bombed, yet is lauded as the best pundit.

Scand - I've just made a comment above stating that

But those guys aren't screaming "sexism" for being called out

But yeah they are in the same bracket as Scott, know it alls that don't fully understand what they are on about, hence why Neville got made to look stupid in his short stint

Again scand, there's having an opinion but you need to know your going to be called out on it? like now with us debating it, one of us could run off to the BBC and tell them we are being bullied? LaughLaugh
By:
SontaranStratagem

My argument is that she's ran off to the media to scream "sexism" and "bullying" because she's been getting some stick and being ask to debate

Some idiots have gone and insulted her but christ almighty its "social media", we should all be use to getting some insults thrown at us

But she doesn't like being asked to fully explain her opinion, because she cant as its all fancy buzz phrases with no substance behind it
By:

And to be fair to Robbie Savage he hasn't insulted one of the greats of the game (Souness) by technically calling him a dinosaur

He hasn't been in a modern day coaching role? well neither as Alex Scott? kinda contradicts her argument doesn't it
