Whilst out and about yesterday in Aberdeen, I was stood waiting to cross the road when a police motor bike appeared and stopped. Shortly afterwards, a few other police motorbikes appeared, closely followed by three limo's with tinted windows.
I got chatting with an old geezer stood next to me, and I quipped that it must be somebody important like the Pope. He immediately responded that it was Theresa May.
Given that the results of the disastrous English local council elections were still unfolding for the Tories, I had my doubts. However, a quick google later, and I discovered that the Scottish Conservative Party Conference was taking place at the Aberdeen Conference and Exhibition Centre.
Suddenly, the claim that Theresa was in the car that had just passed us became highly likely to be correct. Our conversation continued, inevitably turning to Brexit when he told me that we needed to leave the EU "because prices have doubled since we joined".
Really, prices have doubled since 1973, some forty six years ago, and that's your justification for voting to leave the EU. Deary me.
I walked away and got on with my business, my head shaking as I considered how many other nonsense justifications are out there, all combining to light the fire on three years and counting of political stalemate.

Has anyone considered that the laws and bills passed by the EU (not that people could name ANY of them) might actually be more sensible, or good for us, than the ones passed by our own useless governments?

Prices certainly shot up due to the Euro for those who joined, the Germans nicknamed it the "Teuro", (merging the word for "expensive" and "euro"), any Irish forumites old enough to remember the transition will also agree prices shot up. Any independent Scotland forced to join the Euro after the virtue signallers rejoin the EU have that to look forward to
