How about giving up professional athletics? Semenya doesn't have a God-given right to compete. Lots of people would like to do sports but can't for various reasons. I don't see why there should be so much bending for one person.

Not just her though. The second and third in the 2016 Olympics 800M were in the same category. How they can restrict it to 400-1500m is beyond me though. I would have thought that the benefit of testosterone would be the same in every athletic event.

The concern is more to do with trans-gender athletes.

Basically any sport based on just physical attributes is finnished. They need to add a skill element like the cross country skiing where you stop and shoot and targets. They they wouldn't be finnished. They would be Nordic.

Lance Armstrong was such as spiteful, arrogant and obnoxious individual, his exposure as a drug cheat and the public shaming was one of the most satisfying moments in sports history, he honestly thought he was God.
Tbf, cheats in Cycling are 10 a penny, that's why even Sky with a successful team bailed out. |

The woman has by all accounts an unfair advantage, and runs a race today and wins. The luvvie diversity minority rights obsessed BBCs take on the news? "Some consider this a vindication". WHAT! In what way is someone with an advantage who hasn't lost in god knows how long and who then (arguably unfairly) wins another race "a vindication"? Would Lance Armstrong winning another race with a needle hanging out of his arm be a "vindication", BBC? |

I was just about to ask if anyone had heard her speak? I did just this afternoon, and I'd have thought the individual was a bloke had I not been watching the box; she'd definitely have an unfair advantage over the other competitors not subject to abnormal hormone imbalance, I firmly believe. |

I've total sympathy for anyone who through no fault of their own is born with a medical condition, but not accepting they have an unfair advantage and beating all opposition for me takes away the sympathy. Pretty much has an adams apple?!

She's no where near good enough to compete with men, too good for the women, she's an inbetweener, tbh think reducing testosterone is the correct course of action.

I'm no medic, but I think her condition is brought about by a biological malfunction of an organ/s responsible for producing hormones - her body is producing excessive hormones. As such, she sure cannot be allowed to compete as she possesses an unfair biological advantage over other female athletes. Maybe the AAAF could organise an athletic meet for her and the other "inbetweeners".
An adult competitor in a specific sport eg a marathon is not allowed to compete against a child of the same sport; in horse racing horses of a different breed eg Arabian horses, etc, cannot compete against thoroughbred because their genomes are different. |

Not even a man and his dog will turn up to watch an inbetweeners meet, better off staging an inbetweeners event alongside the men and women, but there are not known inbetweeners of Semenya's calibre so she'll have to take medication or step up to 5000, and of course that'll then change as well.

It's noticable that the trans/cross/mixed gender thing is a one way thing. No male sport is complaining a woman or someone with women's hormones has an unfair advantage.
I can't believe tbh this is a debatable point, morally, unless you are .. well .. a BBC/Guardian SJW type. Fact: Men have advantages in a lot of sports due to hormones and genetic makeup. Fact: To make it even and fair women therefore have their own categories. Fact: This individual is born with a medical condition that basically sits in between as she is apparently in some ways biologically "male" and thus has unfair advantages. It's not our fault, it's not the women's fault, it's not her fault, she should have our sympathy but FFS we need to stop pandering so that the vast majority are always walking on ****ing egg shells to stop annoying a small or very small minority and the "permanently outraged on someone else's behalf" ar*eholes. |
