Pointless as, given their debt to GDP ratio, they would be forced to take the Euro if and when they join the EU which is their objective after independence.

That's not an independent currency; it's just a different banknote design.
Report scandanavian_haven April 30, 2019 10:05 AM BST
Sturgeon's not one for democracy is she, refused the Independance result, refused the Brexit result, not sure what she's actually achieved apart from a lot of postering and hot air.

Mmmm, from being a tiny minority nuisance party representing Scotland in Westminster, the modern day SNP has transformed itself in to a significant block of MP's in the Houses of Parliament, The Lib Dems can only watch and weep.
Report Just Checking April 30, 2019 10:18 AM BST
She's a lying nutcase trying to hold her party of nutcases together, it's rumbling like a very upset stomach and if she doesn't demand a new referendum it'll chuck up on her. She HERSELF (and the lying Scottish Greens in their manifesto as well) said they'd have another referendum if the Scottish people demanded it. Well yet another opinion poll just the other day showed only 1/5 of Scotland wants a referendum in the next two years, that's a small minority not a demand. So what does she do? Say she'll hold one next year anyway!

A lying nutcase, as I say. She has to do something to stop her party fractioning and the infighting getting out of hand as a large amount of her nutcase party have not accepted the result of 2014 for one second.

Of course she won't be given a real referendum by Westminster as she won't have the power, so she'll just use that as a grievance and say it's "the b*stard English telling Scotland what to  do as usual" in so many words. Well that's all the SNP Anglophobes do anyway. Will she hold an illegal anyway, try and be a catalonian? THAT went well.
Report Angoose April 30, 2019 10:37 AM BST
Oh for the days when politicians lived up to their manifesto promises, life was so much better then.

The world of politics has always been dirtier than dirty, you know this very, very well.
The scenario you describe looks eerily familiar, maybe Nicola should give David a call to exchange notes. Cry

They've changed their mind on the currency since the end of the conference 2 days ago.
So if they do get independence the BoE will dictate Scottish Fiscal Policy. Freedom. Laugh
But not to worry if they get membership of the EU then, because of the deficit to GDP ratio, the EU will dictate Scottish Fiscal Policy. Freedom Laugh

Not sure where you get the marches from mac.
Seems you mention them more than anyone.

As for kennybhoy how is my post (see below) offensive.

It was the 68th minute.

Aka, you were going on about one in Glasgow on another thread which I know nothing about and posting an advert above promoting another one. If you can dig up an old post from anywhere on the forums about me going on about marches, I`ll give £100 to a charity of your choice.

Travesty or naivety with Liverpool?
Seemed all over Barca at one point although was only watching in glimpses.
Report themightymac May 1, 2019 11:17 PM BST
I think bad luck would be a better reasoning. The 3-0 score flattered Barca. Pool were indeed all over them for long spells but couldn`t score. At 1-0 second half, it looked like it was only a matter of time before they would equalise, then ball comes of Suarez`s thigh, hits the bar and land at Messi`s feet with an empty net begging. Great strike by Messi for 3rd goal but no goalkeeper worth his wages should get beat from that range. Roughie would have got it easily. Laugh

Couldn't take my eyes off that match, and a score draw would have been a fair result. Almost impossible task for Liverpool now though.
