I'm fairly sure the Beeb had it up about a week ago when it happened.
|

Maybe it has nothing to do with Sharia and simply a matter of we won't report something our allies don't want us to report?
|
|
By:
All the stories seem today/yesterday? Hmm must be something to do with official papers being released.
Anyway it's absolutely disgusting. I've no intention of visiting any of these barbaric places like there or Dubai etc, they are 300 years (at least) behind everyone else. |

IT's quite the contrast isn't it though, they on the flimsiest of "evidence" (sending a whatsapp message about a protest) execute kids for being so called terrorists, Britain on the other hand has hand wringers demanding we happily readmit someone back into the country who ran off to join a bunch of infamous real ones! (And according to recent reports wasn't nearly as innocent as she makes out).

Is your issue with the media coverage or the saudi law?
|
|
By:
Quite obviously both. Why suggest an OR?
|
|
By:
Fair enough. I always find it amusing when people want other countries to change their laws so they make sense to us. I don't understand why people act so agitated when a muslim country follows a law the muslims are supposed to follow.

Standard, from readers of the Book of peace .

I should imagine it happens in Game Of Throwns as well, although I don't actually watch it.

Crucifying them after they've already been beheaded, what a shocking waste of resources.

You don't understand why decent normal people get annoyed when bad and unfair and unjust and downright evil things happen to others? Where to START with that. Maybe I shouldn't care about the holocaust as it was mostly performed in Eastern Europe and was legal under Nazi laws. Or I shouldn't care about horrible animal cruelty in China. It's allowed there. Etc.. |

The "crimes" are so bad, it really made them cross. |

By:
Yes they most be utterly Arabid.

There was never a highlander film set in Saudi, I'm suspicious he'd have feared the outcome.
|
|
By:
That is very caring of you JC. And I would join you in advocating bringing prosperity to the people of Saudi Arabia. But at a time when our own govt and media are fecking us so badly, I would rather focus on what happens at home than cry about the injustices happening in Saudia.

I saw a video of a Saudi execution about a year ago. The condemned was kneeling, there were a few officials standing around and about 20 feet away a crowd encircling them. The executioner, dressed in white, simply walked up to the condemned, gave one swipe of his sword and walked off. It had a real 'drop the mic' air about it.

Stonewall must not have heard about the gays surely they would have had a few hundred protesters outside the S. A. embassy..

Fair enough. I always find it amusing when people want other countries to change their laws so they make sense to us. What I find amusing is people who cannot debate without making things up. |
|
By:
Are you saying I made something up? Can you elaborate what exactly?
|
|
By:
As long as they confine their beheading , dismemberment and general chopping up of people to their own country that's fine by me . It's when they take their barbaric activities to other sovereign states that I have a problem .
|

By:
The greatest travesty is that, were it not for oil wealth, these primitive (and now swanky) despots would be still crawling around like serpents,
in the desert, and fornicating their camels, of which, in their culture, they are allowed carnal knowledge with more than one! |

All these people who live in the nice areas of Britain will all wake up when Sharia law is implemented to all .and not just on those who live in the inner cities . They will soon learn and be shown how they must act and behave .

Can't see the hunting and shooting set taking to it, more likely they'll all be executed at a large facility on the outskirts of Chipping Norton.
|
|
By:
Have to ponder, how are these executioners remunerated?
I mean, is it a full time profession, where they are paid, even on days with no action? Do they get paid per head, with a bonus for a busy day? Do they have formal training, apprenticeship, City & Guilds etc, and have certification, and a well constructed CV? |

I believe Albert Pierrepoint was a publican who got paid by the government per hanging. I imagine it's a similar set-up in Saudi, though I imagine the day job is something other than publican.

Probably an enhanced interrogation operative.

Least likeliest thing to be found in Saudi Arabia - a gay bar.

I'd like to think his day job was comedian.

I won't be taking my boyfriend to Saudi this year...I am rather attached to my head
I have already had to cancel ourtrip to Brunei 'after torture'...people will admit anyhing under torture....I think they are about 500 years behind us...our government should issue a protest |
|
By:
Torture is fine as a punishment but next to useless as an interrogation technique.

...I think they are about 500 years behind us...our government should issue a protest Analogy : The fella at the far end of your street has won the lottery and keeps giving you money even though you were never on more than 'nodding terms' and have nothing whatsoever in common . On more than one occasion you've walked past his house and heard him arguing with his wife and kids and you have seen evidence suggesting he has assaulted them . Do you stop him in the street next time you see him or go and knock on his door and tell him to treat his family with consideration and respect or just turn a blind eye to what is going on ? |
