Sad occasion for her family and friends. RIP
By:
why wouldn't the family want a quiet funeral? Who pushed them into this? This was quite close to a state funeral
By:
journalist murdered by terrorists - don't you think that deserves a good turnout?
By:

Did any know who she was?
I'd never heard of her until she was plastered all over the BBC |
By:

By:
Headline news now.

Jamal Khashoggi brutally murdered by the Saudis - allegedly. A journo who was the news for a long while across every known news media; i wonder what he'd have thought, & said about the 37 bloodthirsty executions yesterday in Saudi, one of which was a crucifixion? Just to add, one of the victims yesterday was another journo
By:
how many of you knew about the above? Not broadcast very successfully was it
By:
Apparently she was Sky news young journalist of the year for the whole UK but I had not heard of her either. As for why the big funeral, it was to demonstrate that the IRA are still a big threat.
By:
Is it only journalists you have heard of that should be on mainstream tv if they have the misfortune to be murdered by terrorists SontaranStratagem.
By:
I didn't know about the 37 executions but not surprised bearing in mind that the MSM can't afford to upset the Saudi's

By:
Saoradh marched in Glasgow today.
Surprised they were allowed given their association with the group that killed the young journalist. |
By:

By:
Can't stand the Irish pronunciation of Lyra.
By:
I haven't heard of any. Was an old work colleague who told me so not first hand info.
By:
there is definitely something brewing. As we now know the reason for all the dignitary suckholing; expect the unexpected
By:
I was surprised as well given that it wasn't a targeted killing of a journalist but an indiscriminate shooting that killed a lass who happened to be a journalist.
I think though that something is brewing and the large turnout of dignitaries was a show of strength against a return to all out violence. |
By:
Good on the local residents. Takes courage to do that.

By:
Especially with Theresa involved. Discount nothing.
By:

By:
and the large turnout of dignitaries was a show of strength against a return to all out violence.
Correct |

Seen a couple of pics on twitter in respect of the march.
Each featured a banner. One read 'Unfinished Revolution - Unfinished Business' and the other 'We haven't gone away you know'. Both worrying messages. I doubt though that apart from a few 1diots they'll get much support. |
By:
only takes one snowball to start an avalanche, Mr Bula

What do you expect when the utterly inept PM starts meddling , putting the Good Friday Agreement in jeopardy.
