right, here is time travel for you.i want you to think of something you are going to do tomorrow and imagine your self doing it.example =getting into your car in the morning .
now i want you to think of a time after you have stopped you car and are at work.now i want you to think of yourself at work and remembering yourself getting into the car earlier in the morning .
now what you have done is created a memory of a future event,in other words you have time traveled in your mind and have the memory before the event has happened. in other words you have time traveled into the future and have the memory. Now who says it can not be done?Cool
so lads you can remember getting into the car tomorrow morningLaughLaughLaugh

so every time you remember something from your past you mind will have no problem remembering it,but today for the first time in your life brass has showed you how to create a memory of an event that has not happened yet.this proves that your mind can create your future reality if you plant the memory of its creation before the event takes place.and your sub conscious mind will do its utmost for your future reality to pan out exactly the way the memory it has stored in your brain.
so if you want that girl ,first imagine, then create the memory of the imagination, and the brain must produce the memory in your reality .
SO YOU GET WHAT EVER YOU WANT IN LIFE PROVIDED YOU HAVE A MEMORY OF FUTURE EVENT IMPRINTED IN YOU MIND.
ITS NO GOOD IMAGINING IT,YOU MUST HOLD THE MEMORY OF THE IMAGE STORED IN THE MIND BEFORE YOUR REALITY TAKES PLACE EXACTLY LIKE THE MEMORY.
AND THATS HOW THE LAW OF ATTRACTION WORKS TO PERFECTION.Cool

The idea of "time travel" is so obvious no way HG Wells came up with the concept, and he didn't, not by 1000s of years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_travel#History_of_the_time_travel_concept
Popularising the idea of Time machine, might give you that.

As pointed out in article, even "A christmas carol" has the ghosts time travelling.

many cultures attempt to connect spiritually with ancestors through rituals ,we also have the idea of ghosts /afterlife etc but I am talking about time travel ,physically transporting to a  a time/place in the past/future via a form of transport rather than spiritually ,it’s so obvious you have failed to understand the points being intimated in the discussion .I  should have sayed “literary” rather than literate but after making the typo I decided it was fitting .Appoligies if  I confused or misled you  you JC .I too did think the idea must of been used in the past but can’t see any record of it .Think it’s fair to credit H.G. Wells with the phrase ,still looking for evidence from where the concept was taken . Again the second part of the question was the reasons behind the want for time travel and if anyone has read the original book ? Bodil would be my pointless guess Happy.          Prob has a signed copy Laugh

The main character belonged to a Socialist group and devised a Time Machine so that he could travel to the future to see if the widespread poverty prevalent in Victorian London at the time, had eventually been eradicated.

If you want to warp time without a machine it's actually quite simple.
You just take a jump to the left ...

A slight digression but the same author so still relevant.  I have fond memories of my granddad sitting down with me when I was little boy whilst we listened to Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds.  Today, I still think the musical was a brilliant piece of work.

H G Wells would have won a Hugo for both The Time Machine and War Of The Worlds imo.
