After an adverse finding was discovered in a sample taken from boxer Jarrell Miller, he vehemently denied wrongdoing, insisting: "The facts will prevail and I shall be vindicated. "My team and I stand for integrity, decency and honesty and we will fight this with everything we have."
However, after a second adverse finding was report the 30-year-old American admitted: "I made a bad call."
In a video message posted on Instagram, Miller said: "I messed up. There were a lot of ways to handle the situation, I handled it wrongly and I'm paying a price for it. "I messed up a big opportunity and I'm hurting on the inside. My heart is bleeding right now - I hurt my family, my friends, my team, my supporters. "But, I'm owning up to it. I'm going to deal with it. I'm going to correct it. I'm going to come back better and I'm humbled by the experience."
He'll be given a ban, serve it out, and then be a publicity magnet in the build up to his next big money fight.
A little bit like being forced to resign from the cabinet, skulking in the back benches for a few months, then reappearing in another cabinet post just a few months later.
Reports that he has three adverse findings which makes his denial all the more farcical. He may not be the sharpest chisel in the toolbox, but surely there are people around him who understood that the labs were going to make him look a little bit silly.

Nice try by his PR team, but barely makes the Top Ten of soundbites of blatant fibbery. Jonathan Aitkens “sword of truth and justice”” and Blair’s “WMDs from Iraq in 45 minutes” still occupy the top two places.
