"climate" protesters blocking streets in London?

I wonder if they will leave lots of litter behind or whether there is any footage of some of them having a go at the Shell building and blocking roads?
Hopefully the Shell building bit's not true and they will all leave peacefully and with all their litter, that way the message is louder and clearer tbh.

Not seen any but I went Sooth and avoided the centre!

Its ok for climate protesters to smash things up

But "brexiteers" better not be doing it

They only come out when the weather is sunny

And apparently it's OK for thousands of poorly-educated schoolchildren to mass truant from school to take part in such ludicrous 'protests'.

This just about sums up the mentality of some of their number.

Are they not FAR RIGHT protesters as a lot of damage being done
only the Far Right cause damage

That's what I said on another forum in regards to Tommy's boys

What's the point of only "protesting" in the summer months? flat track bullies? fair weather bullies?

Notice how they pick up once the lights nights return, and the nicer weather just happens to be around the corner

Its pretty pointless, give it 5 months and they wont be seen for the dust rising from their soles racing along it so as to get back in doors and sit on fortnight or whatever they play

Only in Britain

Riots in summer, Call Of Duty in winter

Blocking traffic and causing excess emissions due to jams does seem rather a contradiction of the message ?

i remember years back watching the news and some protesters were at it in poland ,it was a bitterly cold day and the mob were holling and shouting and it was kicking off ,anyway after a while a a couple of veihcals with a water cannon attached soaked em all and  the all fooked off freezing their  nuts off

Over 100 arrests and disgusting, vile hate speech towards our PM.

Where are the feminists??

Brexit demos / freedom of speech / free Tommy , marches have had just a handful arrests between them and the msm reports them as "violent demonstrations by far right extremists" .
120 arrested and they are reported as having 'genuine concerns' regarding global warming , which in itself is not something our government have sole control over .
Where's the balanced , objective journalism ?

I've never seen so many dirty faces in one place

A perfect occasion to try out Boris' water cannons I'd have thought

200 arrests and counting.

Filth , Do any of them have any work to go to ?  No doubt the tax payer being hit  by Sponsoring the Event , and Policing .

I just heard they are planning on disrupting the tube, that would be absolute chaos, when the tube stops London stops, roads would be abstolute gridlocked not to mention the fact that many fights could break out, down there it's every man for himself at peak hour, protestors trying to take over the platform will probably end up in the tracks would cost millions in lost fares and businesses failing to make deliveries and whatnot, would be well advised to steer clear and any sympathy they've built up would quickly be lost.

Be a Field Day for Pickpockets and Molesters

Too many humans on Earth and unlike decades ago have money to spend on things that pollute the planet.

Even if that's true howard, no one wants to die and everyone wants money to spend on stuff.

Over 300 arrests.

Was that Michael Stipe being dragged into a police wagon?

I'd have the feckless fückers shot but I dare say they'd be lucky to get an ASBO these days.

SHOT? You heartless fascist, do you have any idea of the greenhouse emissions of a bullet?!

Just seen the pictures. Never seen so many white people.. Oh for a water canon.

Plod = geldings. Shameful, 'tolerant' approach.

"Never seen so many white people."

This is quickly becoming a meme for "Any crowd that Jon Snow agrees with so he is blind to their ethnic makeup as he doesn't want to score pathetic points"

Look like people with a non-working income so they don't care about how that money gets into their bank. Soon there will be very hard times and they really will have something to complain about.

Attacking public transport, forcing people to use cars. Blocking central London, forcing people to tail back in their cars, make longer journeys, all bad for the environment. A ridiculous protest, no doubt sponsored by the Green party, an unofficial party campaign. Always the same tree hugging middle classes looking to score brownie points within their social circles, manky old looking men and gormless women with 7 colours in their hair with not much work on. I have no sympathy when they damage properties and disrupt everyone else's lives.

The French will be SEETHING as Easter is prime time for Eurotunnel and Air Traffic Control staff to f00kup everyone's holiday breaks.

"This prison food is against my human rights, it's not even ORGANIC".

I'm on that train tomorrow cooperman for Easter holidays, will be incandescent with rage if they make a nuisance of themselves, in fact given it is Easter it's apt to say that I'll be bloody Cross

Media fawning over the protestors. Attenborough's Apocalypse Now documentary tonight. Yuk.

The stirring of fear is appalling. We're apparently all going to die very soon.

BBC Radio this morning had one bloke who went unchallenged. He said we must stop flying and all become vegan. So that's millions out of work worldwide!

Has nobody told them if they want to reduce their carbon footprint they just need to cut their feet off ?
Might make yoga trickier, and what would they do with all those sandals!

The UN's climate science body has admitted that a claim made in its 2007 report - that Himalayan glaciers could melt away by 2035 - was unfounded.

The admission today followed a New Scientist article last week that revealed the source of the claim made in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was not peer-reviewed scientific literature – but a media interview with a scientist conducted in 1999.

Several senior scientists have now said the claim was unrealistic and that the large Himalayan glaciers could not melt in a few decades.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2010/jan/20/ipcc-himalayan-glaciers-mistake

You can't live healthily on a vegan diet and the roads would become even more congested if people didn't fly.

I wish people would think these things through before saying stuff

People can't fly, Daedalus demonstrated that many, many years ago.

"You can't live healthily on a vegan diet"
Patently bollox I won't be drawn into an argument..

Heathrow to be targeted tomorrow.

Anyone here intending to fly from there tomorrow?

Similar time-table to Brexit then

If they start messing with flights this weekend and seriously disturbing law abiding normal people going about their business, surely it's time for the authorities to not have any ****footing around?

Put a gun to a bag of quinoa and say "stop or the kwinoah gets it!!!". Then if any of the *****ers snootily corrects them with "it's pronounced keemwah", just shoot them anyway .

heathrow is really easy to mess with, there is a tunnel that all motor vehicles have to go through to reach terminals 2 and 3, it was targeted once before and there was chaos.

arrest them all they are causing an obstruction. i have seen footage of police officers dancing with them and skate boarding

Do they dance and skateboard with 'far right' protesters ? One imagines they'd have more time to enjoy themselves not having to contend with hundreds of arrests

Should go in with police dogs and horses. Crowd dispersal tactics. Unfortunately our Soya Plod have been gelded.

Having seen some of the video footage the OB must be absolutey terrified of mis-gendering at the point of arrest

i find use of the term 'OB' deeply offensive, carrying as it does connotations of male domination. please use gender neutral terms in future.

one has just been on the london news, he/she wanted to get arrested and managed to within 24 hours. i couldnt actually tell whether the person was male trying to appear female or vice versa

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I rest my case

i heard that one of the social media companies has about 30 gender options

I doubt it but it's funny either way

i got it wrong, its 71

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/facebook/10930654/Facebooks-71-gender...

"Little Miss Gender"
Sounds like both an excuse ("It was just a ..") AND a 60s rockabilly song .

Sounds like a Robert Hargreaves unpublished book

Met Police officers skateboarded and danced with the protestors.

What on earth has gotten into the heads of these public servants?  Clearly the current Met management hierarchy is not fit for purpose when disgraces like this are happening.

I remember the days of the hard-nosed OB who used to think nothing of putting the boot in if you tried to climb the barriers and run on the pitch but never batted an eyelid to some of the songs sung on the terraces .
Now we seem to have a load of thin-skinned pansies with batons and attitude .

Plod used to do bad things to bad people. Now they offer you guacomole and a latte.

Latte? That has milk, vegans consider that cowist fascism.

Oat milk.. Oats harvested by the hands of purple haired types who cycled to the farm on bicycles made from sustainable rainforests.

Actually I sometimes buy Alpro if it's on half price sale (which it often is), it's pretty nice. Not quite milk but similar and pleasant enough.
I should be on this protest, I need to burn my soap!

Imagine Travelling and These cxxnts disrupting it ,and you Miss your Flight, What right have the Scum to be acting in this way ?

Future fooking Generations , I dont give a Flying about Future Generations , I am Concerned about Now and the state things are at ,with all these rsoles of Various Genders Religions and Groups with have to put up with , The world will be Overtaken
in 100 years Pollution will be the Least of peoples worries .

Surely, assuming Co2 is such an issue, there are ways to mitigate it?
"Nuclear winters" are caused by high level dust kicekd up from blasts stopping energy penetrating to lower levels.
Just let off a nuke every few weeks at a controlled rate?

There must be ways of doing something. Stick huge geostationary parasols up in high orbit over the equator (maximum input area) over areas of the ocean with no islands that stop 30% of light reaching earth. Abbot's knickers could provide for about 3 of them.

A few stags Do's missing their Flights should quickly sort the situation out , thoughts may stray from the  Climate if  heads are  being kicked in .

future generations wont be here if they get their way and we all have to turn homosexual.there will be nee bairns.

Have any of the Mob had a wash the Past fortnight , Dear me there must a right Hum around some of them Tents

Spineless really

"pausing" the big rebellion?

They've spent a few days causing no trouble to the infrastructure whatsoever and now they wanna take a time out

Pathetic doesn't cover it

Hot weather Mate , The stench must be unbearable

Some lass chained herself to a railing

Like what fantasy world do they think that's going to achieve anything?

"we shall not be moved" Well you've chained yourself to a railing, there's jack booted thugs coming towards you tooled up the eye balls... I think your about to get a battering, but never mind, in your fantasy world you ain't being removed.

Absolute jokers

Cops can just waltz in and kick 7 shades of s*** outta em

They've chained themselves up, no weapons either

And they are suppose to be our "saviours"

Zero discussion of alternative views. For example. Exhibit 1: Mr Albert Arnold Gore...

According to this supposed eco warrior we should have been dead 5 years ago.

I watched Attenborough's fear mongering disgrace. No other views. Zero mention of the Moon's gravitational pull and its variables.

Nothing about the Sun either. Are we moving closer or further away? Even if our position changed by 0.00001 % we would see climate change.

When they say 'the hottest year on record' they mean since 1880. What about the other millenia??? NO mention of geological evidence that suggests temps were higher centuries ago.

Is CO2 the devil?? NO!!! It's the lifeblood of the planet! Without it we die! Where's the mention of this?

Oh and the Polar Bear population is increasing....

Better look after my Glacier mints then.

No one is allowed to question them, if you attempt to they immediately call you a conspiracy nut job

They are simple

you can question them, but should be fact based not tin foil.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Case closed . Classic

its not case closed, where are your facts reynard

case closed

we are pumping carbon dioxide, it heats up the planet

either pump less, or find a means of taking carbon dioxide out of atmosphere

seems quite simple, but its not happening

donny - I don't possess any 'facts'

so you just go along with something you know nowt about

great stuff

Am I going along with anything ?

you seem to be, but maybe its just bluster

Are you seriously saying ONE GAS is responsible??? Oh and this one gas is vital to our survival!!!

No mention of geological data spanning millenia. Nothing about how our climate has varied for 10s of centuries.

NOTHING about Al Gore's horrific predictions. It's sickening.

are you seriously suggesting i suggested only one gas is resposible?

maybe i missed it?

are you suggesting we do nowt about carbon dioxide, and take our chances?

B.O  a big contributer in West end last  two weeks ,

Although I like the idea people are causing havoc and putting people’s noses out of joint, I can’t for the life of me see the point of complaining that we are killing the planet.

The planet dies with or without our help. Species became extinct well before humans walked the earth, but the biggest incredulity I have is philosophical; as thinking beings we are aware of our own demise, that’s like a sick joke, why should we prolong the life of earth against the universal laws of everything’s destruction?

The ludicrous claims they are the "last generation" and the world will in effect end in 2030 doesn't do much for appraising their common sense and scientific credentials does it. It just screams "hyperbole from morons". Britain isn't exactly doing much deforestation in Borneo or Brazil or killing gorillas, is it.

Dominic Lawson wrote a great piece in the Sunday Times yesterday completely taking apart the protestors.

I would post it up but it's behind a subscription which I don't have. Maybe somebody else does - it is titled:

"Is Extinction Rebellion a Big Oil conspiracy?"

dominic lawson, talking about conspiricies whilst working for msm

you cant make this stuff up

So many things are not allowed to be discussed on the MSM:

1) With global data only going back 150 years how can we be sure CM is new?
2) Is CM down to other factors? The Moon's gravational pull or the Sun getting closer?
3) If the UK gets warmer, growing seasons extend. That means plants/trees require MORE Co2.
4) Various people including Al Gore have been wildly inaccurate in their forecasts. He has made millions on the back of it. Many scientists since 1970 have made wildly inaccurate predictions.

5) Attenborough said CM will cause more drought yet also more rain! Efficient water harvesting will deal with drought. And we do have desalination as an option.
6) I've yet to hear any eco warrior protest at mass migration into the UK with the increased carbon footprint that brings. Why?
7) Corbyn wants to build 1m homes a year. Destroying wildlife and increasing carbon emissions at every stage. May wants to build 250k a year. Neither are being criticised for this by the protestors. Why not?
8) As India, China and Africa prosper they will demand more meat in their diet. That means more
methane. Do we tell them they can't have meat every day? The Protestors tell us to go vegan. Will they tell Africa that??

It is a nice sunny day for a Bank Holiday...the climate is just right for today...these protesters can take a day off

you can measure carbon dioxide, ...its increasing.

this is only partially down to man, as natural warming unlocks frozen co2
deposits, but we can still control our co2 emissions and work on ways
of locking co2 out of the atmosphere, there is some good work on this
but it needs proper funding.

a few volcanoes pumping muck into the atmosphere will cool us down a bit
but cant really trust there will be enough , so why not, just do what we can.

not sure why people need to even debate this

He's being sarcastic donny - it's a p!ss-take piece. You have to read it to get the picture........

The EV market should put pay to diesel and petrol.

In Shenzhen, all 16000 buses are electric. The plan is for all 22000 taxis to be too.

Can't wait for this to happen here. The quietening of our cities and towns will be transformational.

but hes a gravy trainer working in msm

maybe nigella will speak up too, if she has another book to sell

May God bless every one of the 1000 arrested and all those in attendance ,RESPECT

maybe if he'd designed the system a bit better it wouldnt be failing?
