Poor old Blancmange, dragged  "screaming" into custody, and not before time.

I can't wait to see which of his 'friends' he will let down next.

Does anyone really give a flying fck

The Ecuadorian embassy lost their patience when his tunnel struck a sewer pipe

A somewhat undignified end to his seven year holiday inside the Ecuadorian embassy, bundled out looking like a tramp.

Maybe it was a tramp

Fingers crossed the current American President won't be rushing to exonerate Blancmange. The foul stench still remains in the air from the disgraceful Barack Obama decision to pardon Soldier Bradley Manning, releasing him from his richly-deserved 37 year sentence.

That'll be the effluent from the aforementioned sewer strike

Poor bloke

Imagine having to be dragged out in front of media cameras and grinning cops

What happens to him now then?

So what changed? How could they arrest him now and not 7 years earlier?

He'll agree to vote for May's deal and will be fast tracked as the new Conservative MP for Beaconsfield, replacing Dominic Grieve.

He was an asylum seeker, thus afforded protection by Ecuador. They have now resynced his asylum status and invited the UK police to their Embassy to remove him.

Thanks Angoose.

He'll be tortured with re-runs of the last 3 years of "brexit", he'll give up everything within a day

Surely he should have been allowed to walk out, stroll to the nearest pub, enjoy a pint and a packet of pork scratchings, and THEN have been arrested

He was trying to tunnel towards The Nags Head pub about half a mile away when tragedy struck

Pamela Anderson has tweeted in support of Julian, I'm sure that will cheer him up.

I am on his side I have always believed Wiki leaks a lot more than our lying governments

I am not sure Kenny Mann will be, he was not looking after his cat properly, I would also be concerned over that

The dramatic footage of a white-bearded Julian Assange being carried out of the Ecuadorian embassy in London by British police officers was captured by a camera operator from the news agency Ruptly, a subsidiary of the Russian government-backed news service RT.

The Berlin-based agency, which has carved out a niche in live-streaming events that others ignore, such as protests and public disorder, has maintained a 24-hour watch on the embassy since 5 April according to Laura Lucchini, the head of Ruptly’s newsroom.

Embarrassingly, British television stations are now having to rely on footage from a Russian government-backed news organisation to cover an event which took place on their own backyard in central London.

Multiple sources at UK broadcasters suggested there had been a pool agreement – where the BBC, ITN and Sky News take turns to provide a camera outside the embassy and agree to share any footage – from 5 April onwards. However, this was abandoned at the weekend when news editors concluded Assange would not be leaving imminently, meaning British broadcasters failed to capture the key moment.

Kuensberg,Peston and Burley apoplectic with rage.

Seven years in Ecuador and no tan, baffling.

Kay utterly demolishing the SEETHING Tatchell now on Sky News

Yep. America unhappy he exposed them machine gunning civilians in Iraq. Of course we have an absolutely humiliating extradition treaty with the USA : we hand over anyone no questions asked, while they can tell us to do one. Doubt Assange will get much support here as he was helping out Farage so has pissed off everyone.

if there's public pressure UK doesn't always extradite to the US, Gary McKinnon and Lauri Love both fought and won against extradition to the US on hacking charges.

Imo Assange has wasted 7 years of his life, he should have risked extradition as he had a decent case, he was a publisher not a hacker in this instance? not to mention Obama was US president, more chance of early release like Chelsea Manning under him rather than Trump?

Wikileaks was purposefully used to help Trump. The Lord is usually a thankful being, isn't he?

Has been found guilty of being Julian Assange, looking like a tramp, and skipping bail

Possible jail sentence of twelve months, likely to be served in the Galapagos Islands

Was no holiday in the sun....looked like Robinson crusoe

The cop is trying to suppress a laugh as old father time is being dragged out

I reckon there are a few forumites who haven't been outside for seven years.

Wiki leaks let us know about Cameroon hiding money in a tax haven

And released footage showing 'our' side did not hold the moral high ground (to put it mildly) in Iraq

Lock up the truth sayers because the truth is ugly.

it looks like he's been watching Laura Kueenssberg too much

I am in shock..
I couldn’t hear clearly what he said?
He looks very bad.
How could you Equador ?
(Because he exposed you).
How could you UK. ?
Of course  - you are America’s b!tch and
you need a diversion from your idiotic Brexit bullshit.

she has a point with her last line

How could you Equador ?

What was his plan, stay there for another 7 years?

He should have stood tall the first day and stood his ground against extradition.

Even if he'd been jailed, he'd be out by now

Even if he'd been jailed, he'd be out by now

He was in effect , albeit voluntarily

He was always going to be vulnerable to changes of how Equador valued him
And as the yanks always do, they always lean on everyone else to get their own way

I just hope this isnt the end of truth

Pamela Anderson has tweeted in support of Julian, I'm sure that will cheer him up

As if it wasn't bad enough Diane Abbott has now spoken up for him.

The amusing thing is the maximum sentence he can expect in the USA is 5 years.

must be a chance they can get him on one charge then add some extra charges with something like a 200 years to life sentence . a while ago i recall watching some american politicians who wanted him executed.

execution was mentioned today. think it was CNN

that's the supposed liberals, what are fox calling for? probably him being hung, drawn and quartered.

an evening with Donalds hair

i see the president doesnt appear to know who julian is despite praising him when on the election trail, tremendous

funny that, Obama left JA alone & Donalds admin have hunted him. Maybe he doesn't know?

this is going to be Trump vs the US law enforcement and justice system at it's most extreme

I do not see the need for Assange to be extradited from Sweden to the United States myself

Chelsea Manning was already a United States citizen in the United States and in their army.

I do not think anything Assange divulged risked the United States security

But it did embarrass them

So is there any truth in the growing rumour of the real reason Julian Assange was arrested ?  It’s going viral ,the dogs are barking very loudly on this one .....kenny Mann was about to be unmasked as the CCK .

As I understand it the extradition laws require the US to provide any and all charges they have for Mr. Assange to the UK Government. Under the 2007 Treaty they cannot add charges when and if Mr. Assange is extradited to the US.

What have America offered Ecuador?
I know the last regime were being frozen out, what agreements have the new ones been given?
It’s just an extension of ‘war by proxy’, meddling in other country’s affairs.
I’d like to see what Noam Chomsky makes of it all.

I watched the original case against Assange unfold online (on various 'alternative' forums) and my understanding is that he was given warning that the police were looking for him for 2 sexual crimes (the 2 women didn't know eachother but bumped into eachother at the conference Assange was the star speaker at and had strikingly similar stories of what he is alleged to have done) and that he needed to report to a police station. Instead of doing that he left Sweden straight away when if he had stayed to face the music for the sexual crimes of which he was accused (there were many stories/rumours prior to this breaking of the sort of bloke he was around women that seem to have vanished) he would have bene questioned and probably allowed to leave the country for a trial (if needed)l a few months later. If he had pleaded guilty then he possibly might have had a short sentence but more likely he would have done some sort of 'rehabituation' course and that would be that - no U.S. warrant was issued then (though of course it may have been at a later date).
Instead of facing the music he ran from the sexual crimes he was accused of and spent far far longer in imprisonment (at the embassy) than he would have done had he faced the music at the start - and even the 'crimes' that america wants him for of about 5 years. Fair enough, jump on the 'freedom' and 'victim' bandwagon in his support but remember (in this time of 'me too') just who it is you might be supporting. When wikileaks started it was faceless (he didn't start it on his own and couldn't have done it without the team around him) and it was designed to be just that - faceless. At some point Assange decided he didn't like that and at that point he obviously knew he would be a marked man at some point in the future - this caused a schism at wiki and was at roughly the same time that various stories were emerging of his actions around women.
The ironic thing of course is that his hatred of Hillary Clinton (a powerful woman!) which caused him to side with Trump (safe in the knowledge that Trump wopialdn't win!) means that the administration that was (knowingly) directly helped by his actions is the one deciding his fate - whodathunkit?

Great cartoon in the Times today.
Assange being dragged out and Theresa May, suitcase in hand, running in to the embassy.

The video reminded me of the unearthing of Sadam Hussein.

Didn't end too well for him.

They hung Saddam

He may be hoping to avoid that

AS long as he did divulge any of America's military secrets

I think we should let him stay here

not divulge

Surely, he would have had to tidy himself up for Pamela Andersons', ahem, visits.

Hillary Clinton (a powerful woman!) only around other women

What have America offered Ecuador?

recent IMF loans.

Went in as a 2nd rate narcisistic crusader for free speech, came out a 3rd rate impersonator of santa claus.

Apparently cost the Met £6million in policing costs to maintain a presence outside the Ecuador embassy . Really ? £1,000,000 per year ? How much were we paying these coppers ?

doughnuts have increased markedly in price, Reynard

One bobby with a flask and packed lunch should have been sufficient , surely ?

I think the £6m is a figure plucked from thin air by the media.

… or maybe Diane Abbott.

Diane Abbot would have had it nearer £6,000 given what she claimed 10,000 plod would cost (LBC)

Reportedly jailed for 50 weeks

For breaking Bail conditions..not sure what he was on bail for?

If the Swedish Authorities still want him for alleged sex offences...he may be extradited to Sweden

But on no account should he be extradited to the USA for alleged Wikileaks offences, he would not get justice and probably not be

heard from again....I liked Wikileaks, I thank him for those
