Waitrose has removed a set of Easter-themed chocolate ducklings from its shelves after accusations of racism.
The trio of sweet treats, consisting of mini white, milk, and dark chocolate ducklings, were originally labelled “crispy”, “fluffy” and “ugly” on the packaging. The product in its original form has since been axed, and replaced by a redesign, after receiving “a small number of complaints” that the “ugly” dark chocolate duckling had racist connotations. Keep the ducks and rid us of these virtue signalling eejits who complained. |

the store should have more sense than to market the chocolates this way in the first place with said captions . It's obvious that these could be construed as racist (daft or not ) so why fuel the fire ?

'lovegod', indeed,...calling it White Magic would not sound right. Imagine a customer enters a shop and says..."Can I have a box of White Magic please?" That has numerous connotations; White Magic,...magic mushroom? Cocaina?
That "famous" household named chocolate no doubt is patented at huge costs. |
