I believe it needs updating to be More Like a Video Game ,with some Arches under Bridges Containing Hazards that are Dropped such as Sacks of Flower , And perhaps even Exploding Mines that would shower the crews in Dye

Also a Shark could be introduced  , The fin would create great Excitement for the Crowds along the Banks

The Race would then have the Appeal of the Great Chariot races in Rome  , and Competitors deemed as Herioc

Instead we have a load of Giant fitmen and Midgets roaring , Very Boring TBH  Times have changed   , The young Generation

will be Playing video games not watching it ...

The threat of submarines rising from the murky waters would also add an element of anticipation.

Apart from the amazing Mr Cracknell I would not have watched it.

His documentaries on tackling the Marathon Des Sables and the trek across the US which resulted in his accident are superb.

It shouldn't be ridiculed.
For many of the participants it's the only route out of poverty.

elite sport in which an oap in sporting terms decides he,s nowt better to do so jumps in the boat, look forward to razor Ruddock turning out for l,pool next weekend

Imagine reading threads on here and then being able to inform people they are not very good @ spelling how great that must be.
Just as well some of us make the odd mistake otherwise your whole day would be a disaster
