I travel through Dewsbury regularly scandy, I wouldn't live there. You are giving him kudos for 'living in' a city with 65% foreigners, I'm sure he lives far away from the troublesome ones.

you're overcomplicated things, he said he'd never seen so many white people, he lives in  a city where the white population is less than 50%? he lives in Camden mre specifically, a pretty diverse borough, the studio he broadcasts from is in Camden as well, he's lived there for many years.

He's 71, to say he's never seen so many white people is simply not true. London was very white indeed in the 60s.

it was a daft thing to say but really he was emphasisng the point that in his every day life in London everywhere he goes he sees a very multi cultural society, then all of a sudden he sees huge gathering thousands of white people only, though as pointed out he had attended Glasonbury.

They were all "property millionaires" - sold up and moved to Cornwall, Devon, Wiltshire, etc so that Cornish people can no longer afford to live in Cornwall. For those that need this explained to them (and sadly it apparently does need explained) the reason it's contorversial is that Comrade Snow can attend all sorts of things like virtually all white Glastonbury and even the the remain march and never comment on ethnicity, but he'll comment on it this case as he and his like are constantly trying to say Leave voters are racists, and thus this is in some way a sort of "white's only" racist march. It's clearly what he is getting at. Secondly he's being racist, he's bringing race into it when the protest was nothing to do with race HE is trying to make it that. (In fact on the news I saw a black guy in a union jack suit and bowler hat .. anyway) ... And thirdly he's a total hypocrite as if it were ever reversed, e.g. a Fox News journalist said something about "never seen so many blacks in one place" Channel 4 would be first to scream for his head.

I had a post on here removed because I used the word coloured instead of black.  No offence was intended and yet offence was claimed in similar style.  Had no idea it was considered offensive to anyone.  Anyhow, I've made a point of not using the word again and I've forgotten who the snowflake was who mentioned it.

Perhaps it is offensive to call a white person pale skinned now?  I've no idea.

It's more a generational thing, people who say the term coloured are from a certain generation where that was common place, I was watching an old Interview recently of Muhammed Ali where the presenter kept referring to him and black people as n3gro's, he did not take offence but prefered the term black, nowadays both terms are neither liked, accepted or appreciated by black people or society in general, however the N word is far more unacceptable.

Remember Alan Hansen said the term coloured 2 or 3 times on MOTD and didn't flinch an inch, it didn't even register in his mind it was not acceptable in modern times, same as Amber Rudd, old habits die hard.

Who decides when something becomes either acceptable or unacceptable ? Do they have a referendum and if so who exactly gets to vote ?
I think that every effort should be made to inform every member of the public either by e-mail or maybe billboards or adverts on TV during peak viewing times so that those who may inadverdantly find themselves falling foul of these new laws are given every opportunity to absorb these changes .

I recall the book "The Story of Little Black Sambo".  I'm sure my parents have a copy.  Not the 1899 original though.  Seems that will set you back £4.5k.  It's the story of an Indian boy and iirc he meets different animals in the jungle and trades his clothes and possessions for his safety as he goes along, until he's got nothing left and meets some tigers who want to eat him.  They end up chasing each other round and round so fast that they turn into butter and the boy is turned into a hero.  It's got shades of Jack + The Beanstalk and The Gruffalo in it.  Anyhow, I assumed it would be banned now, but it's reprinted and still avaialble.

The irony is that the vast majority of those who have taken 'offence' and complained to Ofcom wouldn't have batted an eyelid 20/30 years ago , but see this as an opportunity to highlight the sheer ridiculousness of all the PC nonsense that's taken over every day life and every day language . Basically it's a case of "Two can play at that game" .
If only those with nothing better to do than seek out offence where none is intended , such as innocently labelled chocolate ducks etc, the world could return to something resembling normality . Of course , only normal people will understand this .
