On the other hand in the days when we had executions in this country the ministrations of a clergyman were always offered I think.

"A condemned man once complained to Albert Pierrepoint, the executioner, that he had an itchy nose. 'Don't worry, it won't bother you for long', was Pierrepoint's reply."
What a stupid man Albert was. It's well known once you get things amputated you can feel a ghost "pain" or "itch" in the missing body part. If you got your entire body cut from your head, you might spend the rest of your LIFE with your entire missing body itching. That would be terrible, I'd be trying to get someone to carry my head to dignitas. Maybe stick it in a cat basket and put it in the hold to save on the air fare. |

Was researching the Guilitine recently after reading a story about the size of the barriers at the official residence on the Elysee ,turned out he wasn’t even “home” ,the yellows have also protested at his riveria summer home . Guillotined heads were said to do expressions with eyes movment for several mins after the drop .Was very unnerving for the peeps in the vip section at the front .Amputees suffer from itchy missing limbs ,perhaps the condemned man was hoping to have his nose itches so he could amputate the finger with his teeth ....worth a try .
