CofE school kids have been on trips to a Synagogue and a Mosque.

Wonder if the schools in the Muslim areas of Birmingham get sent to Christian churches?

If I'd have thought quick enough I would have asked the Head if it was an exchange-type visit.

Jack..
I very much doubt it..based on my experience as a teacher. That said, good for children to experience and learn about other world faiths. We should not close doors as Christians but educate in a fair way. Just My opinion.

Not really roleplay when you individually writing down your reasons or a story. Roleplay is more a dramatic act.

Scandalous show of Homophobia among the Dominant Religious Community ,I tend to agree Re Teaching  Age wise , But I think these people
are beginning to show their true Colours regarding the Gay community Shocked The feelings quite obviously deep Rooted.

Of course they can say what they want nothing will be said ...or will it ?

We may get to the Stage where our Luvvie friends will need to Take sides and Condemn the Dominant Religious Community

Religion is for stupid people afraid of the dark, imho of courseWink!

Is it more stupid to send them to a Mosque or Synagogue? Whats the difference?

If they have to be taught nonsense (which is pretty much the case in our area as there is hardly a plethora of alternatives) I'd rather have them taught our nonsense which is at least linked in with our history, traditions and culture than Muslim nonsense.

I am not sure grandparents get any say in their children's education now JackSad

I would like all Children taught about all religions, as long as it is in an 'enquiring' way, not to brainwash them into one

religion only.

As far as LGBT stuff I would prefer this taught at Secondary rather than Primary school to allow children some life without the

problems of sex

But when it is taught at Secondary school, again it has be in an 'enquiring' way, no attempt tp push children one way or the other.

In fact I  think these 'enquiring' religious and sex education lessons should be compulsory for all schools in Britain, including

faith schools.

I would like children tp know everything, before they make their own choices in life.

just my own opinion, as usual
Report UBLE/REGY March 28, 2019 2:00 PM GMT
I do not think History is nonsense at all, I think it is very important, but taught in an 'enquiring' way and the wider the base the

better as far as I concerned.

I am hoping our children might make better decisions than some of our adults do now, in particular our governments. History helps in this

Are C of E schoolkids taught their religion is based on the needs of a fat old king of England with gout who wanted to shag a younger fit bird he lusted after?

The marriage of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn took place in 1533 when he was 41 and she was 32. It was incumbent on a monarch in those days to leave a male heir to the throne and his current wife was past the age where she could bear children. The Pope rejected his request for a divorce so he rejected the Pope.
I don't consider 41 as being old nor a 9 year age gap excessive, I could quote more extreme examples of revered leaders lusting after a much younger female although I'm sure you can think of some yourself.
Report Whisperingdeath March 29, 2019 1:54 PM GMT
41 was not  young in those days and 32 was not exactly child bearing age! The age gap bewteen him and Anne Boleyn was more than 9 years but fcek me if you are King why would you not want to shag a young fit bird and be able to even if he was twice her age!

He married his brothers intended! It is incumbent on a Monarch at all times to leave a male Heir so what has that got to do with making up a Religion?

A whole new religion was made up because the King of England wanted to fcek/marry another bird. Ok granted he needed a male Heir. So a whole religion is based on the need of a fat man with gout to have a kid? Kwality!

Then all these divs go to church to worship the God who made this fat bloke who had gout and smelt putrid the King of England! God works in mysterious ways indeed!

You surprise me Foinavon, you are a clever man. Are you really defending the Church of England?

If you want to have a pop at Islam and another religion invented by " a man " please do. Point out the fact he was illiterate by all means. I don't know much about the Mohammedans but if you want to point out anything about him and young girls please do. I can't say I know anything about that but I have heard innuendo about it on these threads. You may also have a go at the paedo priests if you so wish.

I could quote more extreme examples of revered leaders lusting after a much younger female although I'm sure you can think of some yourself.

As stated earlier Foinavon please feel free to have a pop at Islam and Mohammed if you wish. Try and be a little more honest about it though. I know you have integrity.

I don't defend Christianity in any of its guises nor any other religion. I abhor the fact that virtually all kids are brainwashed into their parents' chosen cult practically from birth. I'm sure that King Henry lusted after lots of young women with unerring success (he was a young fit monarch) as did and do many others. What was the age difference between Bill Clinton and Monica? I've heard things about Mo but have no way of verifying it or even if he actually existed apart from translations of alien scriptures, I really don't want to get into that.
The thing about Harry was that he loved her and wanted to marry her for the right reasons. It is thought she was already pregnant at the official wedding. This country was also being bled dry by the Vatican and those payments ended. He had married his brother's widow who happened to be the daughter of His Most Catholic Majesty and there were some questions regarding it's legality at that time but the Pope couldn't admit it due to the connections.
