A plane destined for Germany landed in Edinburgh when the pilot got 'lost'.
Passengers were stunned when they touched down in the Scottish capital just over an hour after taking off from London City Airport.
The bizarre journey started when the flight took off at 7.47 this morning bound for Düsseldorf.
However, the pilot and crew of the WDL Aviation flight, operating on behalf of British Airways, were given an incorrect flight path, Edinburgh Live reports.
After heading north, it landed in Edinburgh at 9am.

So they flew 500 miles and had to fly 500 more. At least they got to see the sunshine on Leith.
If such a flight plan mistake had happened in 1944 it could have been disasterous.
easy to get lost up there, everywhere looks the same.
All a little bit odd though, you set off on a heading of around 340 degrees when you should be on around 110 
It's not that odd, they pilots had the wrong flight plan so they did what the flight plan said to do.
So question is do they have a set of them available and picked wrong one or did some admin send them wrong one.

Surely they would have made the same flight quite a few times and knew if they were going to Dusseldorf they'd know the set flight path was wrong?
I wonder when the crew discover where they're flying to. This makes it sound like they find out at the last minute.
Difficult to believe that the first time they are aware of their destination is when they receive a flight plan.

Should have taken the Trans-Europe Express. Straight connection to Duesseldorf City, AND met Iggy Pop and David Bowie.
