Why do Builders talk so LOUD?

A few weeks ago I had a new fence installed. Upon arrival the first thing they did was crank up a huge radio and then proceed to shout at each other all day. Now my next door neighbour is having a new bathroom put in and I'm sitting in my kitchen at least 50 feet away and I can hear every word they're saying. (including expletives)
