Very honourable man - clung on like a limpet before finally resigning when the "affair" with his "best man" was exposed.

Demonstrated patience and tenacity to shake off the title of "formerly disgraced" before resuming his rightful place back on the front bench - if only more politicians could demonstrate his level of selfless dedication, humility and integrity.
