Is this so they can retire early have a final salary pension?

Police, Fireman and who knows what others do not deserve it!

13.2% here for Police and Crime Commissioner - and the helicopter is financed by a charity.
Only 3% rise here for Fire and Rescue.

In brighter news - they have frozen the Adult Social Care Levy.

Brighter still the govt have delivered “A tax cut for 30 million people, with four million people taken out of income tax altogether.”

So they can all afford not only to pay for the services they need out of their take home pay but also they can blame local councils rather than the generous tax cutting government. Neat.

What are we paying the police for to sit at the side of the road in an expensive German saloon hoping to catch someone doing 40 in 30 zone?

If I ever need an electrician or a plumber to do some work for me what happens is I tell them what needs to be done they give me a quote they do the work then I pay them the money.

With the police it's different I have to pay however much money they are asking for upfront even if I don't need their services.

So far in my lifetime I've never needed the police to help me with anything, never called them out for help - I should be entitled to a rebate on my Council Tax, but no I have to pay the police an extra 10.4 %.

The council should introduce a 'no police call-out bonus' for every year you don't use the police service you pay less Council Tax.

We should be looking for this for more people and not dismissing it. I worked in the private sector and retired on a Final Salary Pension.

akabula fine you pay for it.

Personally I dont belive the Police or Fire Service deserve these kind of pensions. They are taking the pee. Ambulance drivers and Paramedics deserve more than they do.

The company I worked for paid in double what I paid in.
Although they have now ended the scheme.
Are the Police etc the same or do they pay it all?
I know they get to retire on full pension at an early age.

given Steve's crank politics, I can guess why he is upset by the police and not deserving it.

However, why the negativity towards the fire service?

Will go up again when speed camera revenue goes to zero once the new EU directive on forced speed controllers for all new cars is implemented.
