Maybe this is not the time for these comments and i dont want sound insensitive/condescending but as an avid walker /hiker and having climbed all 3 peaks, dont these folks take stock of the weather forecast before they go putting their own lives and others @ risk.

Plus another death from hypothermia @ the weekend on Glencoe.

I live/walk/hike on a regular basis in the Peak District and wouldnt have dreamt of going on to Kinder/Bleaklow /Rushup Edge  et al given todays forecast. It was bad enough taking grand child to school.

A few benign sunny days during February seem to have lulled folks into a sense of false security.
These peaks can be the most inhospitable of places even during summer .

I climbed Nevis  in summer (August 2015) and still had to scramble over a 100 metre plus ice block, yet there where folks scrambling up there in t shirt /shorts and trainers.

Anyone thinking of tackling these Peaks tommorrow  DONT. You are putting yourselves into risk of life threatning danger and those of others it aint worth it. All ways another day.

Thoughts and prayers for family and friends.

I suspect that when people have travelled several hundred miles to climb a munro
they will not let weather stop them.

geoff's correct.

You have to leave the decision to walk/climb till the last hour or 2 before making a decision to set off.
