if you have a dream ,and you think about that same dream,its no different than a memory you have of a time gone by,i think both would be stored in the same section of the mind under the name real and unreal.but if you have a thought of a coming event ,that is a bit like a future dream,so it would stored in the same section of the mind.
now suppose the files all got mixed up,you might end up with a future memory of a past dream.
