Too cold for them stabbing breeds?

As a matter of fact I've never even heard of anyone being charged with the possession of a knife. Any 'differences' that I've heard about are usually sorted out with a fist fight but never a knife involved?

Personally I'd rather take my chances with a bullet than a ten inch serrated blade stuck deep into me. Any A&E consultant will tell you its the internal bleeding that kills.
No idea what wealth has to do with it as Kensington is a wealthy area although I do think one forumite has hit the nail on the head. |

Can you believe the crime figures up there anyway? - It's all in the reporting, at first glance murder rate is going down but then if you combine it with the mudder rate it's a different story.

Are there no Grime .. *cough*. .. "musicians" glorifying violence, murder, and gang warfare in Aberdeen?
If Andy Stewart was still alive doing "Donald where's your rambo knife", it might be different! |

Only 2.6% of the Aberdeen population is Caribbean or African As high as that? I would have thought under 1% going by what I see with my eyes but that said they don't cause any grief to the best of my knowledge. |

Reminds me of the story when some Aberdeen fans met some Real Madrid fans in a bar in Gothenburg before the 1983 European Cup Winners Cup Final.
They were chatting away and enjoying a few cervesa's together when one of the Real Madrid fans boasted that "there are 2,000 Real Madrid fans in Gothenburg and they all carry the knife". Not to be outdone, one of the Aberdeen fans responded that "there are 10,000 Aberdeen fans and they all carry the heid". "The heid, what is the heid?", enquired the Spaniard. Eager to resolve the mystery for his new amigo, the Aberdonian quickly responded with a demonstration, duly landing a Glesga Kiss clean on the beak of the unsuspecting Spaniard. As a steam of blood emerged, the Aberdonian loudly declared, "What's the heid?, THAT'S THE HEID!!!!" ![]() |

^ thats pretty low for a city of Aberdeen's size ..2 murders in 3 years .
In Ipswich where i am and smaller than Aberdeen , there is a stabbing every month without fail and a murder every 4 months ...in fact looks like a double murder on one of the estates yesterday ( as i read the news ) So yers, Aberdeen looks a peaceful place as i'd expect |

That was just what a 5 minute search brought up for the last couple of years. i expect there would be more if we could bothered to do a thorough search. |
|
By:
possibly Tobermory if it was just a quick scan ... i think the average murder rate for it's size would be around 2 maybe 3 murders a year , although i've never heard bad things about Aberdeen

Crimes in Aberdeen down but knife incidents up 18%
by Adele Merson 10/03/2016, 10:00 am Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson. Send us a story Sign up to our Daily newsletter New figures reveal road safety and antisocial behaviour incidents have dropped across Aberdeen – however, knife incidents are up by 18%. The Aberdeen Community Safety Partnership Hub (The Hub) aims to improve community safety – specifically targeting antisocial behaviour, fire safety and violence in the city. In an update report on the success of the scheme, Chief Superintendent Campbell Thomson said partner agencies had together worked hard to tackle issues affecting communities. He added: “In doing so there have been notable successes in relation to antisocial behaviour, violence against women and road safety.” Figures from the report reveal road safety has improved in Aberdeen, with the number of serious and slight casualties reduced to 184 between April 2015 to December 2016 from 234 the previous year. While youth annoyance and motorcycle annoyance calls are both on the decrease. But knife incidents have risen by 18% from 113 incidents to 133 and serious assaults are also on the up from 109 to 127. Superintendent Kate Stephen said The Hub brings all partner agencies under one roof for the first time. She added: “This has enabled quicker identification of emerging problems and therefore improved responses.” Figures reveal detected crimes have gone down to 1,869 incidents from 2,605. But many of the crimes reported to The Hub are then dealt with by other departments. |

A teenager who stabbed a 16-year-old to death in an Aberdeen school has been jailed for nine years.Bailey Gwynne died after being stabbed in the heart at Cults Academy in October. His 16-year-old killer - who cannot be named for legal reasons - had denied murder but was convicted of the lesser charge of culpable homicide That was a sad occasion in Aberdeen because it was from a predominately 'posh' school. But's that's the difference between Aberdeen and London. In Aberdeen it's a shock to the public whereas in London people take it as granted, shrug their shoulders and sadly, that's it. |

Aberdeen got a lot of money from the oil industry.
not surprising that more affluent areas will have less knife crime than cities with a large urban population that is heavily influenced by gang culture. |
|
By:
bit like saying Beverly hills has less shootings than Compton.

There's very little oil money in Aberdeen now. Check the property prices.
