It was named after Tibbet`s mum - Enola Gay Tibbets.
It was also part of the squad that took part in the second Atomic attack on Kokura, which was the Primary target until switched to the secondary target Nagasaki due to bad weather. Wonder what his poor mum thought about a plane named after her dropping an Atomic bomb on Hiroshima and vaporising over 100,000 people. |
