Probably the biggest 'name" found guilty so far - Cardinal Pell of Australia. I am not surprised at the glacial speed they are dealing with this problem, but it nonetheless thoroughly disgusting. Pell is 77 now and so even if he goes to prison what punishment is he really going to get? Countless lives have been ruined by this cnt and what will he do? say sorry on his deathbed and have his god forgive him?

I remember this debate with Richard Dawkins. I thought I'd link it so you can see this sack of shi t trying to take the moral high ground over Dawkins.

Believes in no God ,probably has not for years , If ever ....

Plenty of nice food a decent living standard and a bit of Perversion is all he and many are and were ever interested in ..

And millions of Brain Dead people have will Keep them in their Life style .

As for these Two cases against Pell ,I would imagine the Tip of the Ice berg His best mate in the Hood one of the Top pedos

who were exposed over the Years , Pell even tried to defend him in court ...

We have to understand that any accusation against Clergy pre 1980 , could lead to very Serious consequences  ..

FOR THE ACCUSER Sad

I would hope not

I do not think Pell will find it easy in Prison. He will be the lowest of the low.

Well deserved it will be too, how a man in his position could do what he did, I don't know?

If he felt feelings for young boys he should have immediately removed himself from his situation.

That is everybody's obligation, let alone a priest no exceptions!!!!

If there is a GOD which I doubt, he won't be forgiving this bloke.

It's always hilarious how people who believe in religious fiction (most actually pretend to for their own benefit) are still given respect and demand it despite being such fantasists when children as young as 6 are ridiculed in Primary school for believing in Santa Claus.
Most in Western society KNOW they are lying to themselves and others to such an extent it's a 'normal' part of everyday life which is never challenged or examined, despite glaringly obvious anomalies which they will see and hear daily.
Not really a surprise that such people should be entrenched in criminal behaviour when they hone their skills of deceit are being honed to perfection 24/7 in fact we should expect it from these types from all 'faiths'.

Aye whisperingdeath my mistake I was given duff info by my uncle who ran in the first ever one (plus others) and his kids took part in the early junior events.

Either your uncle is 150 or you are 100!

The son was 75 when convicted!

The thing is Denzil I have been on the coffee thread promoting Greggs bacon and sausage roll and a cup of coffee for 2.50

Should I now take the moral high ground?

I have to be honest here. I am going to have a bacon and sausage roll tomorrow with a cup of coffee unless I hear why I should not!  I guess I could eat porridge and take a cup of coffee in the car as long as my driver does not fcek around braking hard!

You are right Vicky, Christians are very much under attack.

I believe the Pope we have now is a very good man.

But bad apples need to be weeded out, and assuming Pell was properly convicted, he is one of them.

I know some people still need to believe in a religion, I would not deny them it

I am an Atheist myself.

Although I did believe in Father Christmas when I was younger

I'm a Catholic went to 2 Catholic schools even altar boyed at one stage aged about 8-10.
All paedos need outing and punished these types especially who've been protected since the day dot paedoing in the name of the lord, getting ridiculous respect and allowed so much personal intrusion (confessions etc.) it's about time the issue got more limelight.
Find it strange how other faiths take such issues so personally and can't condemn the acts to the point where it confirms their 'faith' is a lifestyle charade to benefit themselves only and are completely dishonest who can't tell the truth to save their lives.
The days of necessary control for morality purposes have gone it's about time honesty no matter became the way to go name and shame all the human vermin who've acted out and enabled all these types of behaviours across the board.
Can see why you lads say Christians are under attack when others aren't unfortunately it's a one rule for them world now.

The Church has to give up all it's paedophiles...rather than protect them as it has done in the past.

The Church may have thought it was protecting itself by protecting paedophiles

But all it did was damage itself.

The Church has to give up all it's paedophiles...rather than protect them as it has done in the past.

This also seems to be a common denominator . People of specific faiths protecting their own . Do religions/ideologies not teach their followers to 'do the right thing' in the eyes of their particular God ? Or are they told that paedophilia is the right thing in the eyes of their God ?

Or are they told that paedophilia is the right thing in the eyes of their God ?
does any religion actually do this?

Are there any examples in the Bible....People say their are some examples in the Book....but is it meant for their people to follow...or just what their prophets do?

Values have changed in our society.... but pre pubic children used for sex is definitely paedophilia and
always has been in my opinion.

But once puberty is reached it is trickier......I have an idea women were mated soon after puberty
in the past, as the need to produce children was paramount.

Nowadays that is not the case, and worse still women are reaching puberty earlier.

I am NOT using this to justify paedophilia, but it does make it trickier
By:
Reynard
When: 28 Feb 19 16:36
Ok , so maybe they aren't told that paedophilia is the right thing in the eyes of their 'God' , but are they told it's the wrong thing ? It doesn't seem to be condemned or even frowned on in one book Confused
