Ever been so divided (fractured) in your lifetime?. Extremists  given air time on every major channel. As for 'social media, it's in free fall, WTF. Has technology allowed like minded people in different parts of the world to 'clan' together. Or are they all just sops for manipulators 'various'.

That should have been made illegal

the ex-leader of the Scottish labour party,Kezia Dugdale wants a 2nd referendum on Brexit, but she doesn't want one on the result of the Scottish independence, how contradictory is that, these politicians want us to vote but if the results don't suit their views they want to change them, f--kin make you vomit. cheers.

I think you are right boxing.
It's divide and rule.

While everything goes to crap.
Which it has...

Healthcare, police, education, cost of living, brexit, wages, roads and so much more, all fecked.
The best defence for this, is attack.
Instead of fixing any mess, our "leaders" just say, "well, the other lot would be worse".
They all do it, it's just that now, they're doing it more.

The media and pundits all hate the thought of paying more tax on their well-paid jobs, so join the attack too.

Not only that, it's very easy journalism. And nearly all our information comes from people with vested interests.

I don't think I've ever seen a time when everyone gave a feck about politics like they do now.

Britain has always been a deeply  divided place for a start there are 4 countries 5 if you include Cornwall and I am sure the Cornish would see it that way, then there is the class system and the continual abuse the working class have had at the hands of the upper and middle class for centuries. We also have one of the worst hate based political system in the world whose sole aim is not to benefit the UK but more like trying to destroy one another, all this before religion and demographic changing levels of immigration. What Brexit has done is prove beyond any reasonable doubt that we all should not be living in or under the country/system

But Mac, it hasn't been divided. All of those separate things may have existed but as a country we have been united.

In recent history, there is little comparison to what is happening now. The chances of N Ireland and Scotland leaving the union are big. The Tories' austerity policies and turning blind eyes to blatant tax evasion whilst demonizing benefit claimants who could walk 200 yards has created a have and have not society. And now the main political parties are vacating the centre ground and unregulated social media "news" is accelerating this imbalance.

These are strange days.

Britain has not been a divided country , the union of England and Scotland the unique in the world and successful beyond what anyone could imagined 300 years ago Britain has been the most free and prosperous and peaceful country that has ever existed a combination of individual rights and an orderly and good society that worked
And this was true for everyone in this country , we have been very fortunate to live in the U K

More divided?
Probably now.
People are less deferential to monarch, lords, mps, teachers, doctors .., you name them.
Perhaps it is magnified by social media though.
An orderly society? For the most part yes but I would say there are plenty enough a-holes to make life less than idyllic.

Brexit has been very enlightening and a real shock , in the way that the people of this country have changed and can no longer be trusted
And that’s not only the politicians it is much more serious and widespread
Because you have in this country millions of everyday people refusing to respect and trying to overturn a democratic referendum
You can no longer trust the people in this country , so things have changed , it’s the nature of the British people that has changed
