BBC4's more interesting …

The Chronic became a huge hit and spawned even bigger LPs from Dr Dre's protege Snoop Dogg and new Death Row signee Tupac Shakur. The programme explores the hostility that was mounting across America towards the misunderstood violent influence of rap music as Interscope and Time Warner found themselves in the crosshairs of an angry political mainstream. Jimmy also discusses resisting overtures to sell Interscope's stake in Death Row

Sure do.  This is interesting with rap & metal.  I never got Marilyn Manson - too satanic for me.

Tem minutes till this …

Music promoter John Giddings tells the story of how live performance has become a billion-pound industry. Where once bands would tour just to promote an album, in the age of downloads and dwindling record sales, the live arena is booming. The programme also tells the story of the original Isle of Wight festival, where a bunch of young promoters with big ideas persuaded Bob Dylan, the Who and Leonard Cohen to perform. The event transformed the music industry, and, for the young John who was in the audience, inspired a whole career. Contributors include Phil Collins, Stewart Copeland, Mel C and Alex James

Yes this (not norton the music show one) has been interesting.
I resented the HUGE increase in ticket prices but now it makes sense = people expect music for free so it's how they can still make money.

I still buy music but may be I'm old fashioned. I can afford it, I feel it's fair I pay for it.
I resent the idea of paying like £70 for a ticket though!
When he was speaking to big country they were discussing tickets at £3.50-4.50!

(Norton can be good sometimes but the guests tonight were pretty poor. The song on that was just ****. Just bland crap forgetable ****. If it wasn't calvin harris and fat bloke or whatever his name is it would have mp chance of being a hit).

I've said before I like Dio, I prefer him to ozzy in Black Sabbath, which gets me some wierd responses from some :)
Heaven and Hell actually is one of my fav albums in that style. Rainbow Dio brill as well.
Dio's solo stuff is hit and miss. I reckon if you distilled all his solo albums down you'd have about 3 brilliant ones.

I'm sure I've posted this before, the young Dio did 60s pop stuff?
