In an age when local newspapers have almost become an irrelevance, thank Allah that the noble Newham Recorder is still going strong. Still delivering all the news that’s fit to print from Britain's Foremost Flagship Multicultural Paradise, and London's Pride.
The newspaper doffed their cap in 2018 for a well-made 50, and on all known form they look well set for the ton.
The Crime Desk alone has been particularly busy in 2019, even though we're not yet halfway through February.
By any standards, they have uncovered a truly astonishing array of stories. Look at them and marvel. Just when you think you’ve hit rock bottom, another one comes along almost immediately to top it.

Three months on, the Editor of the Newham Recorder is still overrun with crime stories to publish from this most "progressive" and "vibrant" borough of London, headed by the discovery of the bodies of two women in a freezer. This type of crime has become more regularly reported in the UK in recent years.

As we all know, the reason for so much crime on the streets of Newham is, erm, erm, because of the Savage Tory Cuts (TM). Indeed, the lovely Newham folk are clearly so upset about the lack of police on the streets that they, erm, erm, turn up one hundred strong to violently attack police officers going about their lawful duty, investigating a reported robbery. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Still, I'm guessing that this 'part and parcel of living in a big city'. Alas those (admittedly few) people who anticipated an almost crime-free spell will be disappointed.
