Negotiated a deal on an Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 BLUEEFFICIENCY AMG SPORT ED125 ‐ 2015
Salesman called this morning to take my deposit, but half an hour later I got an e-mail to say that someone, who came in yesterday, had come back, and secured the car
with another salesman!
I'm beside myself with grief, because it had everything, and including a £5k folding glass roof!
A far as I can see, there are only a handful nationwide!

You dodged a bullet. That 200 engine is not Mercedes’ best and you’d be much better off going for a 250 even though that’s likely to be a diesel. You’d be better off spending a bit more and going for an SL350 if it’s within your budget although you’d be looking at a much older model.

You actually could be correct, as I gave my details at 10:10, and it was at least twenty minutes later, when the other person secured the car!
Thing is that they won't be able to come up with another like for like spec! This was JCT 600 and, for whatever reason, it was being offered at their VW site! |

Johny, I can't go for a diesel, because most of my mileage is short trips, and the diesel engines are slower to heat up, and until that happens the carbon deposits are not expelled!
To replace a particulate filter is a major expense! |

At 7.1 0-60 it's never going to be as fast as my 3.2 TT quattro, but no slouch as a comfortable GT car!
The big revelation, is the quoted MPG of 33 urban, and 53 motorway! |

I know what you mean. I bought a new GLC last year which just glides along but it completely lacks the excitement that an SL will give you. Must be my age. ..

Four from 2004 to 2009.....ridiculous! Reason for that was the mega mileage that I did, when I was working for a crust! The last one I kept for three years, and only did 11k miles (chucked in the towel in November '09)! |

Clicked view details and got "this at our partners site...."Car Store"! That just sounds like where they store overflow stock! No contact details...just an enquiry form which wouldn't send, without clicking "Reserve this car"! That requires a £99.00 refundable deposit....Oh Yeah..refundable when? Off the price of the car when you buy it? Spoke to Stratstone again, asking why they advertise it, and this was the answer....
