There's are no smart gadgets in my house, no wifi everything is wired. That's why I'm going for an old Fall Favourite of mine which now has new meaning.

shocked I didn't know that one, Culvin. Surprised  I've got loads of Waterboys' stuff, but not that track. I see now it was a bonus track on a much later edition of Fisherman's Blues.

Anyway, excellent track as most are from Mike Scott.

My fav Waterboys track is A Bang On The Ear, purely because its one of the few songs I can easily play on guitar Laugh
Report boxingthefox February 5, 2019 11:41 PM GMT
Good man Platini, I have always admired musies, I sang lead vocals for many years, not to be published on here. My 'Classical teacher was Ana Raquel Satre, she just happened to be married to a genius, one Patrick Bashford  professor of classical guitar at the Royal College of Music, who offered me classical guitar lessons for free!, that was in 1970,a dopey me said that's alright Patrick, I just want to sing.

Whether I would have been any good is not the question, I would have been proficient with guitars, if you can play 'classical guitar you can play any guitar. CryCryCry

The Waterboys are my favourite band , Platini . I'll try and see them when they tour this year . I like the song 'A Bang On The Ear , but i songs i really like , are 'You In The Sky' , 'Waves' , 'Peace Of Iona' , 'She Is So Beautiful' , 'Spirit' , 'Everlasting Arms' , 'This Is The Sea' , 'December' , and 'The Christ In You' . I hear the 'The Christ In You' , everyday .

Of course it was a joke Culvin, but I do need to think about 'little boxyfoxy'.........yeah I have thunked and I like it.Laugh
Report Platini February 6, 2019 2:30 PM GMT
BTF, you missed a trick there with the classic guitar lessons. I'd give my left nut to be able to play guitar like some of these geniuses.

Culvin, the Waterboys are a tremendous live act, seen them about 5 or 6 times. Assume you've seen them yourself ?
Report boxingthefox February 6, 2019 2:35 PM GMT
Platini don't I know it, I was a dopey **** some on here say that nothings changed.Laugh
Report Culvin February 6, 2019 11:11 PM GMT
No , I've never seen The Waterboys , Platini . In fact , I've never seen any live acts . The first live act i want to see , is them .
Report morpteh mackem February 7, 2019 9:22 AM GMT
going to see waterboys in may for about 6th time.

culvin, 'you in the sky' is off book of lightning but a version appears on box set of fishermans blues, so must have been quite an old song.
Report Culvin February 7, 2019 3:41 PM GMT
I'm hearing it now , morpteh . I hear it all the time .
