So many classics to choose from, inc the aforementioned Black Beauty and Spiderman. Honoroble mentions must go toThe Six Million Dollar Man (not just the theme tune, but the greatest all round intro of all time)Flashing BladeKnight RiderAirwolfThe Eq
Good call on Starsky & Hutch Platini. Have always been a big fan of Schifrin's work but in this case I slightly prefer Tom Scott's jazz-influenced theme of the 2nd series. Have you noticed how close some of the Schifrin theme (especially the outro) sounds to his theme for Magnum Force: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkas-NHQnsI (0:38 onwards) But cracking stuff all round! I guess there are too many good themes out there to have an absolute favourite. Just have to admire the work of these clever composers.

great stuff, hfink. I didn't know that about Magum Force. Another classic !
the 70s were an amazing time for theme tracks when you think about it. I'm sure they get heavily sampled nowadays.

Nice one Reynard. I've actually got that very LP pictured in the YouTubbery. It's a great theme that has been re-arranged and re-used a number of times. First cropped up in an Italian film called Maddalena (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n83VRAWDjAA), then Morricone later re-arranged it for Le Professionnel, the film Baphornet mentioned.
