No mention of Brexit in 2 or 3 days and its all about the snow, which there is little off tbh Crazy

Why do the media constantly move from story to story? same in America with Trump, every time Trump looks done they move the story on

I think its time they started getting called out for this

It's a conspiracy I tellsya! A conspiracy!

I agree with OP. We need more news about Brexit on a daily basis until it's finally decided we're not going anywhere and we owe the Germans an apology.
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 10:11 AM GMT
Mikael

That's not the point though. My point is that Theresa May is getting it from all sides and yet the media have given her a break by not mentioning her for days, if this was David Cameron he'd have been hounded by the media, so my question is why doesn't May get the same treatment?

Of course you use the conspiracy line, porcupineor, its an easy cop out if your dumb and can't debate.

What's the debate?

Your years of experience in the news industry gives you a unique insight into what is and isn't newsworthy?

And what is there to report on about Brexit right now. Parliament's had its vote and that was very widely covered. Now May is about to go back to Brussels and try once again to re-negotiate which will also no doubt be widely covered. What is happening today that is particularly newsworthy?
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 10:42 AM GMT
I'd love to get in touch with the boss man at the BBC/SKY etc and ask them about this

Why do you always change the story?

Just to gauge their tone of voice and what kind of answer they give, its not like they ever change it to anything worth knowing either, like who cares if Bristol has had snow? if you don't live there why would we care? they've got local news for that

Oh and one big question: what's happened to ISIS???? since Trump got "elected" we've heard very little if any about them, yet under Obama and Cameron we never went a day without hearing about them.

No May has lost her vote? and that has since manifested into them telling her that her deal was cr*p last week, in which she pretty much admitted by telling MPs to vote for amendments, yet the media have gone into blackout about this and wont mention it

She's been caught lying 100s of times and the media say nothing about it and I'd love to know why, and everyone else should as well. she is the ultimate advocate of big brother spying remember ? or have people forgotten about that?

Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 10:49 AM GMT
when all this is said and done we'll find ourselves without human rights, no data protection act, and pretty much screwed with little rights left

And that's when the media will tell us, but no one will ask why they didn't pre warn us before ? Human Rights will go trust me, the data protection act? gone, and you can kiss goodbye to welfare, which will leave millions of people destitute. and this is everything Theresa May is trying to accomplish on behalf of her handlers right now

Yet the all loving media.... silent

If it was up to me I'd close the whole lot of them down, no more news channels and no more propagandizing

And that goes for the Alex Jones's of this world as well, all of them have scooped up the easily led and put them neatly in a box to be wound up at a time of their choosing
Report PorcupineorPineapple February 2, 2019 11:07 AM GMT
This was from Tuesday though. It was covered. Bit unrealistic to demand they're still talking about it now. As for your human rights etc etc, while I may agree with you that isn't news, it's just speculation.

For me, Sky and the Beeb in general do a really good job. Not flawless and I think there are questions to be asked about the latter's editorial policy but the idea of more of their country getting their carefully curated information from untrained, unregulated, biased websites is terrifying frankly. Tinpot despots and megalomaniacs would have a field day pulling the wool over people's eyes.
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 11:20 AM GMT
BBC and SKY propagandize people, what makes their "sources" more concrete than say a media outlet like Infowars?

They all get the same news, its just spun to fit their narrative

And human rights is pretty much already gone its not speculation, you'll find that out soon enough

Companies are now changing terms and conditions in contracts you only have to look at my brothers companies

Look at online gambling sites, you really think you have rights? they have been stripped away and will be gone altogether soon

You just haven't fell foul to it.. yet!
Report PorcupineorPineapple February 2, 2019 11:30 AM GMT
But it's not remotely the same. Do you ever watch or read online/fringe news? It's completely different.

Gambling regulation is actually a hell of a lot tighter than it was 5 years ago, at least the enforcement of it is. You're just hearing much more (through mainstream news) about abuses such as problem gamblers, under age, potentially addictive products or now on to companies' not enforcing their own terms and forcing punters to sign NDAs before settling. Gambling Act hasn't changed since 2005 but following the FOBT campaign there's a lot more focus on it and while these kinds of stories wouldn't have made a one column piece in the Racing Post a few years ago the public are much more interested now so TV and the print are covering it much more and therefore publicising failings and how to police them. But the customer is far better protected now than he used to be.
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 11:38 AM GMT
For me, Sky and the Beeb in general do a really good job

How do they do a good job? they are suppose to be in competition yet they report the same stuff and most of it is spun the same way.

Like for example MSNBC and FOX News, they'll play to the them and us with certain things like race and the wall (which basically is to get everyone in the middle), but they are on the same page when it comes to the job reports, why would MSNBC be on board with Trumps job reports? isn't he suppose to be a liar? yet they run with that because it fits all media outlets narrative that the economy and jobs are brilliant, it keeps the sheep happy and contented and distracted

Gambling regulation? It all plays into controlling, if gambling sites do it then everyone else will follow suit.
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 11:39 AM GMT

Yes and they report on the same rubbish the MSM report on, only take the opposite view on it

Watch out for Trump using "emergency powers" Wink

What's to stop the next far left president coming in and using the same "power" to attack the 2nd amendment ??

That's how they get people on board, only this started with the right wingers shouting how Obama was attacking the 2nd amendment?

Yet its essentially "their guy" who will bring about this very attack, because they are encouraging Trump to use this very power to get the wall?, they don't know it yet but they will soon enough
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 11:44 AM GMT
A shooting at a school in 2021?

Trump has used emergency powers in the past to stop "illagal immigrants/terrorists from invading"??

2021... the new president uses emergency powers to remove the 2nd amendment to essentially "stop terrorists"

See how it works? and the right wingers wont have a pot to pi** in, as they were the advocates of using it previously...

I think I'm going to have to bid you good day and hope your paranoia eases soon. This is just babbling now. You've gone from the weather to brexit and on to gambling, Infowars, Trump and Us school shootings.

If you have a point to make, why not get a nice cool drink, have a think on how to phrase it and put it down.

My examples above regarding Trump is examples of how the media operate

Just wait and see... we'll come back to this post in a couple of years
Report SontaranStratagem February 2, 2019 11:53 AM GMT
Right now they've got the right wing brigade wanting the use of emergency powers ?

Yet 2 years ago they were convinced Obama was removing the 2nd amendment through those very "emergency powers"?

That's how the media operates, in this case its Infowars and Breitbart

But in 2 years time if/when a far left candidate gets in, it will be CNN/MSNBC getting their base to shout for the use of emergency powers, claiming its been used in the past, despite the fact they butchered Trump for doing so?

That's if he uses said powers

I've gone of the deep end but my point stands that its the media getting you to shout for your own enslavement

They write/report on the easiest stories they can, less work, more money.
Reporters are currently loving the weather, then it's brexit (as they've helped get the nation tribal) then it's Trump, (same reason).
Then it's righteous indignation about minor events (which should be the new name of this forum).

Cheap easy journalism. They're not writing stuff for the benefit of anyone, just for a nice wage packet.
