Basic mathematics . Total cost social services and police units investigating plus prosecution , defence and judicial costs divided by the number of individuals successfully prosecuted .
Therefore £millions divided by one = £millions !

Legal aid only kicks in when a prosecution is undertaken . Bearing in mind this was only the 3rd case to go to court (two previous prosecutions resulted in acquittal) the costs 'post investigation' are minimal .
That's raises the question of how the CPS came to the conclusion they had sufficient evidence to prosecute on two previous occasions only for the defendants to be found not guilty ?

Of course the usual suspects were on shouting ''cultural targeting'' and there must be another way.
But it's perfectly straightforward, simply examine all kids from certain backgrounds and if they've been done it's off to jail for their parents, and if they plead that it was done abroad, too bad.
This is another case of the authorities allowing unlawful practices to be performed right under their noses.
What a sick society we have become, in the name of immigration.

France take a tougher stance. I believe girls are examined regularly up until a certain age.

I'll agree to differ. Ask the lads at 18 if they want some chopping off, not many takers is my guess.
I looked into FGM online this morning and found it a hard read... The motives, practice and long term physical and mental damage is sickening.
