The remoaners just voted to say a no deal can't happen? So how do they think the EU will now budge on any negotiation, they've just removed the incentive if no deal somehow can't be enforced? The EU has no incentive if no deal can't happen, therefore the deal won't be negotiated,  it won't pass, and if no deal can't happen Brexit is stopped, the EU and remoaners laugh their heads off.

Do they think leavers are stupid. Actually they've already said they do.
Report Baphornet January 29, 2019 10:27 PM GMT
i think everyone on here knows where i stand as regarding to leave or stay. So if i tell you i'm ecstatic at the votes tonight; that really should tell anyone who's interested what i think about no-deal not being enforceable. It's up to others to decide whether they believe me or the remainer lobby?
Report Just Checking January 29, 2019 10:30 PM GMT
I don't know and the news isn't explaining this well.
My understanding was if no specific action was taken we leave with no deal. Does this ammendment tonight change that, OR does it still require another specific vote to cancel article 50, surely it does?

The speaker is an arrogant remoaner **** hope it doesn't come down to him to decide.
Report Just Checking January 29, 2019 10:31 PM GMT
I see the BBC is continuing the "leavers are changing their minds" narrative, despite the fact actual opinion polls don't indicate that in any significant way.
Report Baphornet January 29, 2019 10:44 PM GMT
JC; we leave on 29th March if no-deal has been reached. Chances of her getting the 'baby' through without amendments - 0. If the EU back down, what's not to like? If the EU say KAPUT! then no-deal is all that's left. This will only change if Article 50 is delayed. The EU hold the rights to that so the ball is most definitely in their court. But before then May has to want the delay; and she's said all along she wouldn't ask for one; now now she's already backed down tonight, she may well do so again. Once again what's not to like?
Report brassneck January 29, 2019 11:12 PM GMT
the population in northern ireland has shifted in the last 5 years.its now 48% catholic and 47% protestants and 5% others.
in the belfast/good friday agreement there is a law that the people of Northern Ireland can determine their own destiny by vote.
should the majority of voters wish to join a united ireland such a vote can take place.not sure what way it would turn out but it would be likely to be very very close.
when the good friday/belfast treaty was signed protestants were 3% majority ,but the age of people is the important factor .(voting age)

if northern ireand people voted for a united ireland and the EU ,uk,and rep of ireland ,all agreed to pump billions into the NI economy .
REMEMBER Northern ireland voted to stay in Europe,so a slight shift from everyone could sort out the whole problem and hope the peace treaty holds is a way forward, and i think Boris sort of hinted at that idea tonight even though he did not say it.
but its a real answer to a real problem and all could end up happy.imvho
