Society can break down very easily when the wrong people are motivated to break it down
Propaganda is no longer working in scaring off the wrong people though imo |

They'd need every spare soldier in the land just to segregate the Pennine towns if order breaks down. What will the rest of the country do?

'Wrong people' SS?
It may get started by some nasties but as in France, the moderates soon show up. As for the army, I reckon they'll turn anyway. Most of them get it. Kicked off again this weekend in France btw. Virtually no coverage. |

If this emergency measure is a result of the UK leaving the EU then maybe it's an indication that we should never have joined in the first place

They've been threatening this for decades
its like the economy lie, we'll collapse it, well hurry up and do it then ffsYou see you keep making threats eventually people will just laugh at you when you don't do it Its over for them regardless and they know it, if they "collapse" everything its going to be judgement day, and if they don't people still know they are nothing now anyway so its also judgement day. |

Another scare story just out

I doubt Brexit will lead to civil unrest, but cancelling it I think could.
People get far more annoyed at feeling cheated, than losing but not liking the result, it's a totally different emotion, and just human nature. I am very much more annoyed at losing money because Betfair goes down or the referees screw up (or all the ridiculous VAR crap during the world cup) than if I lost the same amount or even considerably more and it was fair. Everyone is like that, people will happily play to the rules but if they are broken or bent against us, people don't like it one bit. Feeling cheated and done over is a very strong emotion if not one of the most powerful, I'm sure any psychologist would agree. |

I doubt Brexit will lead to civil unrest, but cancelling it I think could. Well that in itself depends entirely on what occurs...and given no fooker has the first idea how they are to do it after all this time there is even less knowledge of it's effects. The whole thing has been a clustphuck, start to finish. |

It wouldnt entirely surprise me if in the fullness of time people didnt end up in jail for the part they played in brexit, when history has the chance to pick the bones out of what actually happened.

Jail? Be fairer if the people more interested in making us a satellite state under Junker/Merkel than implementing the democratic will of the people were in jail for treason..

The level of 'political' opportunism in this whole affair of pressing the buttons of the public on divisional policy has been nothing short of scandalous given all the assertions are nothing more than guess work.

I voted to Leave EU.....but now it looks like it may be better to stay in and reform it from within !

Walos, nothing gets reformed without Germany's say so, quite rightly as they hold most of the money. Cameron went to ask them to help us out over immigration, they laughed.

clinging to the wreckage (title of a book) it reminds me of an apt expression
I see they are going to have to print a lot more dosh to prop up the euro and subsequently the Eu too. 2.6 trillion on bonds hasn't done it. Still the eu is slipping - even germany on the edge of recession. why aren't these headlines on the bbc and sky?? Instead of the threat of bread queues? |

I think we should just agree to whatever Europe are offering. The risk of going a couple of days without some shopping is too much.
