Cannot agree more with this post. British TV "comedy" seems to be in its death throes.

How the HELL did Claudia Winkleman end up as the highest paid woman at the BBC? 1/2 a million a YEAR of license fee money. For what?
Apparently she does strickly and some radio show - I don't watch strictly (as I'm male and don't like musicals) but I'm familiar with who she is.
What does she bring to them that someone else couldn't do for £35k a year of LICENSE FEE MONEY.

I was doing something friday night out of sight of the TV and some bbc panel show was on in the background, I just heard them announce "star of the mash report" and I thought "here we go again", and that it would be that talenntless t1t above. But it was one of the women instead, small mercies. (The bald white middle aged guy isn't box ticky enough for the BBC).

Anyone still on TV basically

All of them talentless and easily told what to do

All the best comics have gone imo, russell howard has to be prime for the "talent-less" tag? just seems to do stupid faces and shouts a lot, seems to think that's good comedy. well it aint, Mr Howard, its boring and cringe worthy.
Report mouse muldoon January 21, 2019 6:58 PM GMT

what amazes me, RR is the fact that people were still surprised the casting couch still existed. You only have to look at all the braindead 'celebrities' to understand that
Report Just Checking January 21, 2019 7:08 PM GMT
Russel Howard used to be mildly amusing when presenting silly clips but of course he's gone up himself like the rest of the bandwagon and become overtly political and righteous as well from what I've read. He of course disappeared of normal telly when BBC3 was deleted. Then again ITV4 now shows all the Macfarline stuff so I'm not bothered, was the best thing on BBC3 anyway.
Report SontaranStratagem January 21, 2019 7:11 PM GMT
He was alright on mock the week JC

But all of them are politically motivated now even Frankie Boyle

Frankie Boyle might be another one for the talent-less pool, I mean that channel 4 abomination a few years back ffs Crazy tramadol nights or something along that line

Report Just Checking January 21, 2019 7:22 PM GMT
I used to think FB was funny but yes he's went same way (up his ar*e) and he was largely a one trick pony anyway.
"I'll say something rude and offensive in a slow deadpan voice (slight knowing cheeky grin at end)" Audience: "Oooh he went there!!"

I do enjoy would I lie to you as it's light hearted and the comedians are good, and can be snappy on virtually any subject. I've said before I love Lee Mac, I don't think there is a quicker comedian, and Mitchell and Brydon are great as well. Loved Mitchel and Webb and Peep Show. But even last episode of THAT was 4 years ago. Maybe the BBC are now commissioning "Kumar and Obligatory Woman Comedian", for a 6 week run of anti Brexit and Trump "sketches"..

kin irony of rip  off britain is the license we have to pay to send 3 presenters to tenerife  which could be done by one back in england in a studio, that's what they are there for.

Most of this thread is down to personal taste

...but why Jools Holland?

He was peripheral to the success of Squeeze, none of his solo work has ever troubled the chart compilers unduly, even whn teaming up with an A-Lister like Tom Jones. Put him in front of a TV camera and still, after all these years, he's not progressed from the stuttering, awkward g1t that fronted 'The Tube' all those years ago.

Thankfully he seems to be on telly very rarley nowadays but when he is I still wonder just how kinky those photos of the BBC's comissioning editor that he must have, might be?

WOuldnt worry about it iama.

Actually needs stating more than once

Job of a comedian is to make yer laugh. Mcintyre never once raised a glimmer of a smile to the extent i feel like putting a brick thro the screen when he appears. That would make his fookin head wobble if it doesnt enough already. I find dogsh!t on me shoes less irritating.
