Whether one agrees with Mr Robinsons views and sentiments , and the manner in which he addresses his concerns which is dubious , on occasion , to say the least , he does have the right to ask questions of a public figure .
This is a classic example of the wasting of police resources by deploying them to close down a public building to 'protect' an establishment figure from answering a question .

Mr Robinson neither committed a criminal offence nor did he threaten to commit a criminal offence . Mr Robinson posed no threat to the well being of Mr McDonald or to the well being of the staff or visitors of the public library . Therefore there was no reason whatsoever to use law enforcement officers to close down and seal off a public building and offer Mr McDonald personal protection in the manner in which they did or to allow him the use of a police vehicle with which to transport him away from the library .
This whole event was a complete and utter waste of police time in a major british city which has a documented high level of crime , the sole purpose of which was to shield a public servant from a non-existent threat . If it wasn't for the archaic laws of 'parliamentary privilege' , the only criminal offence that could potentially be leveled at any of the participants would be the civil charge of libel or slander against Mr McDonald regarding a statement made at an earlier date .

Why would the police 'back off' ? They are no longer following their remit to 'protect and serve the people' , they now protect and serve select people ie. the establishment , commonly referred to as 'State Policing' Plain

The likes of Soubry do far more harm when they open their mouths with their ill-informed opinions than any vocal activist Plain

The "select few" are the 1%

WTF are they going to do if it kicked off? the cops are clueless for the most part, proper robotic in their approach, have you ever dealt with the police?

You'll find they can be easily subdued, just don't kick off when they arrive, be polite with them and they go easy

Its only the numbskullls who want to trade that take a hiding from them. Only a fool would look to trade with them man to man ffs.

McDonald tweeted today to assure people that him and his staff are safe and well.
He also thanked the professionalism of the police and their rapid response.
Seemingly his meeting was invaded by TR and a group of his supporters.
FFS do you need a degree in lying to be in the SNP.

Humza Yousaf tweeted abuse at TR calling him a hate-filled eejit.
Of the incident he said "This kind of thuggish behaviour towards our elected members needs to not only be called out but stopped in its tracks".
All TR did was try to speak to McDonald so remember that next time you visit your MP at his surgery, you could be charged with thuggish behaviour.
BTW Yousaf is the Scottish Justice Secretary at Holyrood. God help us.
