You're spot on with the disillusionment. Anyone could have put 1.01 on Labour using the brexit process to try and outmanuever the Tories for their own political ends, and you could have put 1.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 on the SNP using it to try and promote Independence then concluding that must be the "solution".
And lo, it has come to pass. How surprising. What we the electorate care about (or getting a good result for the UK), is not something politicians care about outwith the lying frenzy that is an election campaign. |

By:
yes jc that is the problem - they have hammered away at brexit from day one the tangled webb they have created the confusion and lies
no wonder people get tired of it all mps no longer seem to represent their people - what can one say or do?? I belong to a party and I have no clue which way we are facing ha ha!! |

i've just switched TV channels a few times & all i can see is 2nd vote 2nd vote - peoples vote etc etc. I feel like i've awoken from a comatose pill, and the leave 'victory' never happened.

Milwall beat Hull by a narrow 2-1 on Saturday in the FA cup. Hull fans are apparently demanding a replay as the Hull players didn't know what formation Milwall were to play in, and channel 4 news has said Milwall's advertisement in the local paper was unfairly targetting people who might support Milwall.

i see a real chance for 'leave' voters to take to the streets soon, not just a few 100 but many many thousands. It may take something like that to wake the Whitehall cowards up. But what i see & what is British lethargy, are obviously completely different. May will walk away tonight with a victory of sorts & last night never really happened. She will be lauded & cheered all over the right side of the house; even by people who can't stand her or her 'stoicism'

i forgot to add; i feel nauseous. Might be the port though

If leave voters take to the streets the remoaner skum at the BBC/C4 news/Sky etc will try and portray them as hard right lunatics.
Same as they always home in on the one baby in a crowd of 1000 young male immigrants, they'll find a couple far right looking idiots and make them the story, the "proof". |

Actually I forgive Sky news as they are a private company without any public service remit, they can broadcast bias if they want. Those however are beholden to try and remain impartial yet act the incredibly biased way the BBC/C4 do ....

I agree.
I'm through with democracy.....voting....British Party politics. In the cold light of day I looked at my lifetime's contribution to democracy in the UK. I have alway lived in rock solid Tory, then Labour, now Tory constituencies, where my vote made no difference under first past the post. I was on thw wrong side of the Proportional Representation vote The one time I thought I had won, in the EU Referendum, I've discovered I actually hadn't. I got myself well-informed about the issues. I took on board this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I tried my best to ignore the hype. I heard Paddy Ashdown say ‘I will forgive no one who does not respect the sovereign voice of the British people once it has spoken. Whether it is a majority of 1 per cent or 20 per cent, when the British people have spoken, you do what they command. Either you believe in democracy or you don’t.’ And John Major. You remember John. Bloody marvellous prime minister — introduced the motorway cones hotline and a back-to-basics campaign while doing Edwina Currie. What did John have to say about the referendum at the time? ‘There will not be another referendum on Europe. This is it.’ Well I believed them, voted, saw the result and waited for it to be implemented. ......and waited, whilst being told I was a racist .......and waited, whilst I was told I had been told a pack of lies by people who don't understand the definition of 'Let's' ......and waited whilst I was told what I voted for (always like to hear what it actually was, not what I researched, was told and believed it was) I waited and, then it slowly dwned on me that this would never happen. That 'The Establishments' (yes, plural) would never allow it. Why can't these people be honest and say that they don't have confidence in us as a sovereign nation state, and support a no borders globalist, cheap foreign-labour, cultureless, valueless international megacorp vision for our country instead of mouthing platitudes while plotting to ensure what we voted for never happens? I'm too long in the tooth to be manning the barricades when the dystopian future comes down on our pointy little heads. As Baphomet says in his OP, it's about supporting my family, my friends, my local community, charities for causes I believe in and that's it. If there is to be a right-wing backlash, then fk them! Two wrongs don't make a right and the one thing Remainers can never get through their thick heads. It's better to be wrong and happy, than right and miserable. They will do anything, invoke any privilidge, procedure, fatuous argument and levers they can pull with their friends in high places to get their own way, no matter what the fallout to this country, because they know best. Democracy? You can keep it! |

All the EU has to do is remove the Ireland backstop so any transition has a fixed relatively short time period and a huge amount of the complaints from leave voters AND remoaners would be neutralised.
Why is the remoaner anger directed at May rather than the EU deliberately putting in obstacles that can't be supported? If we leave with no deal Ireland will be FAR worse off than if they'd negotiated properly in the first place. |

they keep lying about even the bus advert - it NEVER said give the 350 to the nhs
but they keep on about it on sky and selecting young remainer students to talk to - then they give them a nice long time and platform to spout their lies without any critique at all |

You will not change it. They have their own narrow interests and would never give it up. Too much money involved.
