What does Jeremy Corbyn actually stand for? Seems to me he just likes to cause trouble but offers nothing.

Report moisok • January 15, 2019 10:52 PM GMT
I could tell you about poverty in foreign countries - about how children are crippled so they can go and beg from the servicemen - a soft touch  and much more. nothing correct there but a fact - what else do you want to know
Report anxious • January 15, 2019 10:54 PM GMT
Yes but we all know about that sort of thing , that only proves that the world isnt perfect
Report moisok • January 15, 2019 10:54 PM GMT
but I do not claim to be correct

my experiences turned me into socialist thinking and politics

I DO NOT LIKE WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE PARTY

it is controlled by people who know very little about the world - many haven't been THERE  and I don't mean on holiday or on political jamborees  - most haven't lived or worked there

I have.  not that I have the answer
Report anxious • January 15, 2019 10:56 PM GMT
Well if you despise it that much why dont you just leave it then
Report moisok • January 15, 2019 10:57 PM GMT
these people are leading and controlling the party  - they are only interested in themselves - it is obvious

a huge change needs to take place and comrade starmer  needs to be the first out - how dare he carry the  name Keir

Report moisok • January 15, 2019 10:59 PM GMT
I must admit I wonder myself.  what else is there  - I have tried the more radical ones too whilst still in the party.  Maybe it is not my fight any longer but most of them appear not to realise where they are going.  Certainly not the lot in parliament.
Report moisok • January 15, 2019 11:01 PM GMT
yes and I voted for him.

never seen such one sided propaganda against him

the same with brexit

the media trying to control both

but while the party plays its westminster games instead of getting out and listening to people we won't go anywhere and won't get elected
Report anxious • January 15, 2019 11:01 PM GMT

Degsy is not allowed a say cos he is ex services (you could't make it up)

As degsy  says - who is going to pay for it all  who is going to promote UK plc to make the dosh to pay for ANYTHING remotely socialist.
,
We would have to nationalise utilities and infrastructure at NO COST  - good luck with that one.  Much of it is foreign owned.

I would favour that but what would the consequences be - we certainly couldn't BUY it back.  We would have to take it.

They were anxious and thanks for endorsing my point. Corbyn sided with the ira. Dispute if you like but point out one loyalist funeral he attended or one loyalist fund raiser he attended or one loyalist he invited in Westminster or even one loyalist he counted as a friend.

you appear to like so many in the party who follow this route

remember Wilson and the intelligence involvement etc

I am very old and I have done all the marches, the radical left caucus's and takeovers of wards etc. I see it from all angles. And where did it get us - a purge and Kinnock then Blair - when you have gone from Wilson to Blair I think it gives one a bit of a grounding in politics - hence my Very critical approach.  I don't want to say too much coz the elves are listening everywhere.  They simply would not allow a fundamental change.  We all need to realise that.  Who would go on the streets??

that is partly what mullin's book is about
Report anxious • January 15, 2019 11:49 PM GMT
No i agree the party drifted to blair and yes he won 3 elections but got us involved in the disaster in the middle east , i think we all realised he was not a socilast but people accepted this after the 18 years of tory rule

Report degsy42 • January 15, 2019 11:53 PM GMT

Report moisok • January 15, 2019 11:54 PM GMT
not just the generation thing - we were very radical as young - but I think the eu has a lot to answer for.

The issue is - who are we working for ??  Are the politicians working for the general population (who are nearly all wage or salary slaves only months from disaster should the income stop)  or?????  I think they work for themselves - I have seen them do it within the party as a shop steward and activist, latterly as an official (very unpopular with the hierarchy coz I kept asking questions).

The games played by people to eventually get to westminster were disgusting - nothing to do with socialism - all to do with one's place and career.  I don't work like that.

The end came when I was dealing with an implementation of national pay grade change and another (very big union) tried to recruit me and pay me for every member I could poach from my current local union (8000 members)

No - don't want to be part of those games any more.
Report anxious • January 16, 2019 12:00 AM GMT
I can se the same thing in local politics there is a lot of party speak and a lot of it is rubbish , but central government is as much to blame as local councillors
Report moisok • January 16, 2019 12:08 AM GMT
Much of my experience was before during and just after the thatcher era (imagine what that was like)

After I left I went into business - this is where the 'who is going to pay for it all' line comes from.

I still have interests and love a bet too - I have taken plenty of risks over the years.

anyway  there is a police helicopter hovering over the woods at the back of my place

- someone has grassed me up ho ho!!!

good night and good luck

The reason they got three terms was the fact they were centre left ! The people of this country will accept centre left or right but not the extremes on either side.
Report aaronh • January 16, 2019 11:43 AM GMT
The manifesto for 2017 really wasn't all that radical unless you just listened to people that think anyone left of thatcher was a socialist.

The student fees policy was a bad one for multiple reasons. It doesn't help with addressing the inequality in education, was mostly a middle class subsidy and is aimed at the people who would vote for them anyway
