Heaven knows what diffferent gravy thinks happened, let’s see

Now I look at it like this , are you telling me that a steel framed building cannot fall due to fire and after being hit at speed by a 700 ton aircraft
or not
Which is it ?
By:

Well , can it happen or not ?
By:

It’s a fairly simple question , yes or no ?

Assuming the aircraft was stationary and was hit by the building at the same speed, would it cause the same damage to the building or would the aircraft get wrecked Confused
By:
lfc1971

Both would be wrecked
By:
lfc1971

Would the building be totally destroyed ?  Possibly
By:
Aspro
When: 14 Jan 19 11:32
Well definitely if it would cause the same damage
By:
lfc1971

That’s even without fire

I do think the OP is right though. From what I've read no other steel building has collapsed from fire alone other than building 7... need to get the brits over there to build it right Wink

no the ops wrong on that , there have been a number of steel frame buildings that have collapsed due to fire alone

And there is no scientific reason why they wouldn’t , skyscrapers for instance are designed to stay stable for just long enough, to get people out
Under certain fire and forces they are bound to collapse
By:

building 7 in that context served its design purpose , everyone got out as far as I know

Really? A total collapse?

Completely missed that one in the (limited) research I've done on the subject matter. It would really help if I can discount it from my thoughts. Which ones?

I would have to check aspro but there was a building for instance where the upper floors , steel framed , collapsed
The lower were concrete framed and stayed fairly intact
That’s why some people think the steel framed building didn’t ‘completely collapse ‘ and  this has never happened , it did
In the upper floor steel framed part of the building

I don't doubt you at all lfc; I've just never seen proof of it. Maybe, when time permits, I'll do a little more research.

The damage is irrelevant. In Aspro's case, it will be hard to convince the public that some cavemen made the building fly into a stationary plane. The resulting invasion of some random country may sound fishy. However, I doubt the public would still question anything and there will stil be a lot of troops happily defending their country in some random land.

Aspro it was in Italy or America I think can’t recall offhand
Of course that was without being hit by an aircraft or anything else

Indeed; it is building 7 that intrigues me more than the twin towers

Yes it’s ok , it’s happened  before : )
By:
lfc1971
When: 14 Jan 19 11:56
And there is no scientific reason why it shouldn’t
By:
lfc1971
When: 14 Jan 19 12:01
It was mainly structural failures
By:
lfc1971
When: 14 Jan 19 12:03
But yes this was caused mainly by fires
