I'm not sure why it was called a smoking room as you could smoke anywhere but I think women weren't allowed in them. Anyone know?

"Paying in cash. "
That's odd, the other day I read a story about the "cashless society" and how pub sales are now majority by card? Is this true for you guys? I always pay cash in a pub. I often pay card in a shop, but pub = cash? I don't think I've ever payed with a card in a pub in my life! I've been IN a pub and found cards dropped by drunk people at the bar and nicely handed them over to the bar staff. It's one reason I never ever will enable the tap and pay rubbish, you're asking to lose your card and get a string of little payments before you notify the bank. |

I've been short changed in pubs, hate to think what I'd do pissed if I missed a digit ok-ing a card!
And at a bar you're often surrounded by people, elbow to elbow, who might be watching your PIN. I hate the idea. |

Do some people, like the post office, not do a card you "charge up" and use as a credit card? I think I looked into it for using abroad once.
That might be safe. Stick 50 quid on it before you go out or something, I could live with that idea., |
