ok,listen to this,if we place our telescopes in all directions ,up down, over ,back, left and right,we can see the same distance every way.now when we reach that distance we can see no more ,not because our telescopes have reached their viewing limit but because anything outside that distance is travelling away from us faster than the speed of light ,and the light will never reach us because of its speed.now everyone will tell you that they don't know where the center of the universe is,well brass says" in effect its earth itself" because we will never see beyond what we can see ,and the outer reaches are going further away all the time faster than the speed of light,so the next time someone ask's you where is the center of the universe ? you can answer "its earth itself"and if they disagree just say "brass said it,and thats good enough for me"
now watch the news in a few months time and you will hear them say "scientists have discovered that the earth is in fact the center of the universe"
and the maths agree.but then again its the known universe i talk about,i will tell you about the multi universes another time.BRASS.

Another brilliancy Brass. Wherever you happen to be is the centre according to the Brassy centric hypothesis. It's good enough for me.
Nothing travels faster than the speed of light in our universe. The light from the things you can't see, those beyond the horizon, just hasn't had the time to reach us yet. Let's wait another billion years and look again.

If the universe is infinite, and this theory seems to be gaining popularity, it can't have a centre.
Report brassneck • January 4, 2019 11:50 PM GMT
the expansion is travelling away from us faster than the speed of light,so  the light will never reach us and the will never be in our universe.
remember nothing travels faster that the speed of light(IN OUR UNIVERSE) but outside out visible universe its travelling at the speed of the expansion as a result of the big bang.now the big bang or big expansion would have to have travelled faster than the speed of light otherwise the light at the moment of the big bang would have nothing to travel into unless the expansion was faster.
so this is how they traps, the expansion of space pinged to lids and was out first followed closely by the light ,and at the first bend the expansion and the light raced neck and neck ,but the expansion was never headed since the race began.Grin

A lot of scientists now seem to believe there was no Big Bang.
Report brassneck • January 5, 2019 12:01 AM GMT
the light will never get past the space expansion but its still neck and neck.
now its my guess that if a guy did get outside our universe he would see a big bright ball of expanding light, because light is the fastest since the big bang but space has the be on front of the light and travelling faster otherwise the light would have nowhere to go.and the space is transparent so if you are outside the universe all you see if light.Cool
and i bet its a blinding light.

i think its impossible for a big bang, because the total gravity of a universe in a ball the size of an orange would never let anything out, unless gravity formed on its own a few billion years later, and then we ask a new question, how did gravity start.
i think the creator clicked his fingers and said "let there be light"Wink

I thought you were going to tell us about the multiverse, Brass. That should be interesting.
Report mouse muldoon • January 5, 2019 12:11 AM GMT
Tell us about the multiverse please, Brass.
Report brassneck • January 5, 2019 1:30 AM GMT
well mouse,in the the multiverse closest to out universe we have the complete opposite happening, everything is made of anti matter ,because when out universe was created the matter and the anti had a massive war and the matter of out universe banished the anti matter, but the anti matter created a carbon copy universe with everything exactly the same but opposite.in this second universe you exist but you back horses as to laying horses in this universe.you lay unders instead of backing overs, you make millions on betfair in the second universe, you turn right when you walk out your front door every morning instead of left.you love black haired women instead of blonds.Jamie spencer is a great jockey in the anti matter universe and the uk voted to stay in the Eu.IN FACT everything is the complete opposite to what happens here, you drink shorts instead of pints, and you love beetroot and hate chicken curry.and amazingly you have great discipline in the multiverse.Laugh

mouse,i forgot to tell you ,you invented a bottled beer in the second universe called TEDDY,and the most popular call when people go to the pub is "give us a teddy beer"and it made you a millionaire before you were 42 years of age.Grin

So, you reckon the centre of the universe is the earth?
Well, I can be more accurate than that ... it is actually the precise location of where I happen to be at any given time.
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 5:55 PM GMT
THe centre of the universe moves, and is in any 2 year old (or Nicola Sturgeon) when having a tantrum. Everyone knows that!
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 5:56 PM GMT
Universe does not equal OBSERVABLE universe.

That's the fundamental mistake here.
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 5:58 PM GMT
The existence of multi verses isn't a theory it's a FACT. Simple proof:
"Yesterday" does not end with the line "Oh I believe in Yesterday".
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 5:59 PM GMT
ACtuallly .. now I think about it it kind of does unless you include humming :)
Report brassneck • January 5, 2019 6:13 PM GMT
the universe and the observable universe are the only one we know,so until we move home to another planet the only center of the universe is the planet we live on ,so lets say" AT the moment and in reality the earth is the center of the universe"Grin
Report brassneck • January 5, 2019 6:15 PM GMT
today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.Grin
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 6:23 PM GMT
It's the centre of the OBSERVABLE universe, from the point of view of the earth as an observer.
In fact if I was being pedantic, I'd state that the observable universe of me and the obervable universe of a guy [*] in australia are one earth diameter apart.

[*] possible third or non gender person as well. Don't want to get any SJW morons worked up for "gender assumption".
Report brassneck • January 5, 2019 6:35 PM GMT
but scientists say the universe has no center ,i say everything has a center, and until they come up with another center i think my center should be allowed .
Report Just Checking • January 5, 2019 6:43 PM GMT
Not sure. TBH I'm only interested in the Big Bang theory now as I still fancy Penny LaughLoveWhoops.

(I think this it's final series [2]. It seems to have run out of ideas anyyway).
