Do you know it was an English guy who taught the Chinese how to fly , back at the start of flight ( they have a statue of him in beigeng )

He said they had no aptitude for flying

Even the commies after the revolution kept the  statue intact when many were destroyed of that noble Englishman , quite right

Collapse maybe a slight exaggeration ( wishful thinking ?)

Some signs here :

Apple has rattled investors with news that its sales have been slowing, blaming economic weakness in China.
In a surprise disclosure, the iPhone maker said it anticipated revenue of about $84bn (£67bn) for the three months to 29 December.

In November it forecast sales of at least $89bn - a prediction that had already disappointed investors.
Apple's share price sank more than 7% in after hours trade, extending its more than 28% slide since November.

Apple's warning about a Chinese slowdown has reached certain luxury retailers with large Chinese customer bases.
Burberry is down 6%, Mulberry 4% lower, and LVMH, Hermes and Richemont are 3% lower.
The festive season is typically Apple's strongest quarter.

But revenue of $84bn would mark an almost 5% fall from the same period last year and represent the firm's first year-on-year quarterly decline since 2016.

In a letter to investors on Wednesday, chief executive Tim Cook said the firm's sales problems were primarily in its Greater China region, which includes Hong Kong and Taiwan and accounts for almost 20% of its revenue.

"While we anticipated some challenges in key emerging markets, we did not foresee the magnitude of the economic deceleration, particularly in Greater China," he said.

By:

When: 03 Jan 19 14:00
It oscillates slightly, or librates as the experts say, but for all intents and purposes we see the same face all the time.

Not relative to the Earth....always keeps the same face towards us.

Formation :

The prevailing hypothesis is that the Earth–Moon system formed after an impact of a Mars-sized body (named Theia) with the proto-Earth (giant impact).

The impact blasted material into Earth's orbit and then the material accreted and formed the Moon

So would have no reason to spin.

moon arbits at same rate it spins, but it oscillates a bit so we see nearly 60% of

But it still doesn't rotate relative to Earth.

Tidal friction acts negatively against that rotation.

(See above link)
By:

When: 03 Jan 19 15:21
yeah, it rotates in same amount of time it takes to orbit

so it appears to not rotate...

theres some graphics on wiki to demonstrate,.. top right corner of link

also shows what it would look like if it didnt rotate on own axis

I hadn't appreciated till recently the role the Moon plays in keeping us steady, and .....alive!

'We have the moon's gravity to thank for the Earth's steady axis and it's one factor among several that influence Earth's consistent rotation in the same direction.

Earth's unique and favorable axis of rotation determines the seasons and keeps our climate amenable to the development of life. Our moon also stabilizes Earth on its axis, so it's less wobbly than it would be otherwise.'

I would like not to live on a more wobbly Earth, so well done the Moon

Back in the 70's there used to be a sci fi serious UFO, the aliens who threatened Earth

on a regular basis used to come from the far side of the Moon, I think so?

Perhaps the Chinese will let us know if they are still there?

I have a red birthmark on my face that increases in intensity according to the date of the moon. On full moon its the brightest. Sometimes people I sit with everyday ask me what happened, because they usually dont notice the scar, only when its brighter according to how big the moon is.

Moreover, people that suffer from depression also report that they are worse off during full moon compared to the rest of the time(read this somewhere, as well as was told by a crazy part time psychiatrist)

Who knows what else the moon is up to.

The moon is in love with the sun, they have a steady relationship(just good friends sort of thing)and now the sun has heard that the moon was tricking with the earth oceans.so you may notice something different the next time you view the day and night sky i am told you can feel the  atmosphere, with the sun in bad form it might stay out all night long.
