Got in touch with chipsaway, entered details online. Then received e-mail from local franchisee requesting several photos of the dent. Duly e-mailed photos and he sent back an estimate of £200, said it would take a day and he would need a power supply for his tools. I'll check my local area for a body shop and see what they quote.

I can imagine that the ploy is to quote everyone high and not bemoan the ones that aren't accepted!

If short of work to then go back with a reduced offer.

Can't just recall the name of the guy I used for my daughter's car, but he fixed a whole load of dints for £50.00.

As he was packing up he saw a dent im mine, which I had never seen, and he fixed that too!

From my experience, a rule of thumb with a one man business, is £150 per panel although, sometimes, a panel could extend,
for instance into a sill or roofline.

The one I use is a magician and hence he can be booked up for three months ahead.

On the last occasion I paid £120 for the front wheel arch on my TT.

I will guarantee that the one I have used for insurance work, would have been closer to £500 than £300!

I thought this thread was gonna be about a Chinese snooker player.
