used to be a regular at the "Lafayette" club in wolves, late sixties on, resident dj was one "barmy barry", regular appearances from Chicken Shack, Spooky Tooth, John Lee Hooker, Jethro Tull, even Led Zep played there. Wonderful place.
Those were the days my friend, I hoped they would never end. |

excellent, invicta & good morning. The club i mentioned was a regular haunt where you fell into and crawled out of; well if you could remove your feet that was stuck to the carpet that is. But oh what fun was had. Cant say i ever saw the great JLH or any musician of that ilk in Pemps, invicta. But Mavis gave us a song sometimes

morning Bap, laf was a classy place, shame to say there was no Mavis for us to enjoy. We had another club which was probably more like Pemps, the "Catacombes" mainly folk and blues music, dirty and dingy but who cared.

absolutely correct, invicta. I have frequented some high class establishments my self since the days of Pemps. But to enjoy fully those places, you have to have had the pleasure of a warm can in the Pemps of this world to fully appreciate them,.
