When I clicked on this thread, I genuinely expected the OP to have linked to a photo of a mole on his cueing arm and asked if we thought Ronnie had skin cancer, or possibly measles.
SPotY -- not convinced. Snooker is no longer filling the BBC2 schedules and most people would be hard-pressed to name more than three current players. England did better than expected at the World Cup and Harry Kane got the golden boot. Geraint Thomas won the French bike race and cyclists have outperformed in past SPotYs, and he'd also have the patriotic Welsh vote sewn up. Lewis Hamilton has just won his fifth world championship. Tyson Fury is, well, you know and it is 20/1 bar. The point is it looks like a tough year for an outsider. Are there prices for the first three? |

It`s believed this is being done to prevent `campaign` type winners and, given the BBC`s predilection for all things PC, at least two places will be filled by women (Asher Smith and Yarnold). All of which means the likes of Ronnie/Fury/Joshua are no-hopers.
