A nice headline for the papers but I'd wager a lot on faeces being found in most areas of public life.

I'm not the least surprised but this is nothing new. A couple of decades ago a survey found the free peanuts in bowls in pubs had dried semen on them. And that was absolutely disgusting and offensive!

I have a degree in Microbiology and can inform the forum that there are 280,000 million bacteria in an ounce of human faeces. It's no wonder that they are everywhere.

The number of times I've seen someone come out of a cubicle in a public toilet and walk straight out without washing their hands.Shocking.

I thought I was getting it bad on here yesterday for not recognising a poster! 260 million....

It's a big number but I STILL don't think it's enough to make a lib dem respect democracy?

Fingerprint tech is an interesting one.
My new phone take a fingerprint and normally it works.

But say it's hot and sweaty, it can be crap. Like say I've just [inert sexual insult to your mother or wife, as appropriate], and all the pummeling has worked it up, it is USELESS, and I have to go back to the old fashioned way!.

BTW the above is not  an insult! your [mother or wife] couldn't really do better than me! Just ask them about JC and see the twinkle in their eye :)

All wining and dining out poses a significant health risk.

Most people in catering don't take time off when they're ill because they don't get paid. So what they've got you're likely to get.

https://www.wired.co.uk/article/london-underground-bacteria-tubes

Anyone who has ever commuted knows that public transport is far from hygienic. This has now been thrown into stark relief after swabs were taken from across the London Underground, bus network and taxis.

Interactive data compiled by Staveley Head and collected by microbiologists at London Metropolitan University brings this invisible bacteria into startling clarity.

Using UV lighting, the London Under the Microscope project highlights 121 different bacteria and mould strains on public transport – including nine bacteria species associated with antibiotic-resistant superbugs. Out of the twelve superbug families identified by the World Health Organisation (WHO), London is home to some of the most dangerous.

Bus companies are seriously at fault when they buy buses which have facing seats.
The first thing the yobs do after sitting down is to put their dirty feet on the opposite seat.

Whoever is responsible for allowing these designs should be sacked, along with the buyers who purchase them.

It's bad enough having to eyeball a yob sitting opposite, let alone sitting on the mess from their filthy feet.

Best take the car and leave the buses for those who have no other choice.

Never store one's toothbrush close too close to the toilet bowl, why? Because each time one flushes poo bacteria will be dislodged and dispersed from the poo/toilet bowl and contaminate one's toothbrush - much less so if the cover is down before flushing.

Yer reality this will be true of like any object in public use. Isn't it something like 1 in 4 in UK with faecal matter on their hands. In many cases probably not even their own given it will spread from objects like this fast.

Must be on everything unavoidable, you wash your hands after going to a public toilet but then touch the door on way out
that handle mist be dirtier than the toilet seat, same with money etc will always be..
By:

When: 10 Dec 18 01:38
impossible to avoid contamination on handles etc .you'd be wiping your hands every 10 minutes ... although  i just hate it when folk cough'n sneeze openly in crowded spaces  ...
By:
thegiggilo
When: 10 Dec 18 01:48
Of course most of it is spread by men, have never known any women i know personally not wash their hands everytime they got to the loo,but men you're probably looking at 50%...same with kids even worse with small boys, although i have drummed it into my 7yr old.
