I watched it, it was quite sad.

One would think it would be sensible for the two Koreas to join up.

From 1950 - 1953 there was the Korean War.

Our boys fought in that war, it was a real war.

The North was supported by Chinese troops and Russian Aircraft. The South by a united Nations force,

primarily American but some of our regiments also served there.
T
he war degenerated in a battle between superior US fire power and superior numbers of Chinese infantry.

A truce was agreed at on 27 July 1953 and nothing has changed since.

Some believe both Koreas are still at war????

The problem seem to be the Kim Jong Un dynasty of N.Korea who seem to run N.Korea for their own benefit.

They also insist on having Nuclear weapons. They suffer severe financial and trade embargos for this,

which has resulted in thousand of N.Koreans starving to death.

It would be sensible if they gave up Nuclear Weapons as long as China guarantees their protection with its own

Nuclear weapons.

But long term Korea should be re united one day, hopefully???

The best I can do this late at night

ps Michael Palin did two program on N.Korea on Channel 5 recently.

It was shown in a good light, but there seemed a severe shortage of people, staged for his benefit I think?

Still Michael Palin has no axe to grind, and did his best to show N.Korea in a good light??????????????

This program rather contradicted that.

Give em up Kim please, you would be guaranteed a peaceful retirement. Like his predecessors he is obsessed with himself

N.Korea is divided at the 38th parallel I think.

Which is where the war started.

Korea had ended up divided at the end of WW2, after Russia's assault on the Japanese in China, they decided to take half of
Korea as well I think....Stalin grabbed all the land he could.
