Palmer The Poisoner is a classic case.
For anybody who hasn`t heard of him, William Palmer was a 19th century doctor and compulsive gambler who poisoned his wife and 4 of their children, his mother-in-law, brother and close friend John Cook after taking out life insurance on them all to fund gambling addiction. He was tried at the Old Bailey in 1855 and hanged the following year. ...... rumour has it that he was getting tips of moneytree  |
