Switch all your lights off and walk about your house wearing a head torch pretending your are a special forces operative on a daring raid.
Holding your hands up in a pistol shape as you jump round corners and making "bang" noises adds an ever higher level of excitement! .. If your heart can take it.
If you hate your kids, a head torch and the above instructions can also make a cheap and thrilling christmas present.
You need to aim an imaginary laser targetter at the squirrel to direct the fox onto it, then say "alpha bravo pappa, engage target" into your imaginary radio.
Don't forget to make a "cheeecchhh" noise before and after!

Aka: I like to read in a fairly dark room. A kindle paperwhite that glows is good for that. I've never tried a head torch for a normal book!
I've tried a sort of clip on book light thing that worked but wasn't brilliant. Can't remember where I put it! I also used to use a sort of bendy double ended torch that you could sort of wear over your shoulders and aim where you wanted and it holds position, You get various types (I didn't get it on ebay), this is a bright one (I'm not recommending seller etc, just saw it searching) others are weaker and are more battery friendly. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/24-LED-Flexible-Flexi-Cobra-Lamp-Torch-Work-Light-for-Home-Garage-Camping-CT3440/8011381474
Maybe the head torch is a better idea, but it leaves a mark on my forehead? Men down the pub (and squirrels) recognise the mark as a battle scar, and know not to cross me!
