DJ Liz Kershaw's mother had up to £80,000 stolen off her by her carer although only admitted to £20,000. Not one day in jail Angry and where's the bank in all this ? Did they think it was normal for a woman in her 80s to order take away pizza and regularly buy trainers ground Sports ? The picture of Clare Davis says it all really Mischief

Sadly, it is happening on a daily basis, albeit at lower levels all over the UK. Despicable behaviour.

One day, in the not too distant future, certain people will get fed up with lack of policing and lenient prison sentences and form private police forces. I believe this has already happened in certain areas. I sincerely hope they don't take the law into their own hands, meeting out justice in the way of a right good kicking!

This is what you get with today's so called Care System.  Low paid, uncaring, unqualified, unsuitable people doing the job because the Care company can only making a profit by cutting staff costs.

....and the good news?  it's only going to get worse as the number of people needing care and living longer increases.

So its best you spend all your money before they can get their hands on it.

Concur with all of the above terrible ongoing issue along with the abuses that are suffered in some of these 'care' homes Baron's posts highlights why we probably shouldn't expect anything else.

The elderly have become a target for scum bags.  From dodgy trades people to financial advisers to uncaring care workers and many in between.

She's dead now but when my she was alive I listened in to a telephone call as a woman tried to con my mother.  Pure scum.  When I challenged her she couldn't give a fuck.

there are some brilliant folk working for low wages in care system.

there are also some horrors....the brilliant workers tend not to notice the horrors as they are too busy caring.

the care providers are out to make money so there is little supervision, if families or friends dont catch
the horrors they will just carry on.

quite a shocking state, ....take care of your folks in care system if you can.

Might've said this before on here can't remember, however about 5 years ago was having alot of back trouble long story short ended up hospatilised but the first person I saw was the senior nurse who in conversation got onto what I did for work which I told her involved long periods of sitting.
Her reply was 'why do you think they keep them sitting down in the care homes?' 'To kill them quicker to bring in the next lot.'
My brother has had many senior roles in the NHS and one was involved in care homes private and public to which he explained the differences, one being to keep them active and alive longer the other was to get them in dead and out two of very few conversations I've had on the subject which said quite a bit.
